The Driftless Music Festival

Driftless Music Festival began in 2012. We bring professional, eclectic music to the Driftless Region The stage was set. The temperatures eased into the mid-80’s.

Our dreams for the first Driftless Music Festival came true on a sunny July Saturday in Viroqua’s Eckhart Park, thanks to your community spirit and support. The professional sound system was working. And, just as we had envisioned, more than 500 hundred people wandered into the city park to enjoy the diverse sounds of our regional talent line-up and the company of other music lovers. Young and old

showed up with folding chairs, blankets, dancing shoes, picnics, children, and dogs. People enjoyed delicious foods prepared by local vendors. Some stayed for the entire 9-hour program. Others drifted in and out. Everyone felt fortunate to be sharing a community event with such a bevy of musical talent. It was truly a highlight in Viroqua’s cultural history!

Our community arts and live music nonprofit FOURTHSTREAM who curates and organizes Live in Viroqua and The Driftless Music Festival is so proud to be nominated for nonprofit of the year! We've been searching for the right words to express our gratitude and reflect on what we experienced together at the Driftless Music Festival Saturday in Viroqua Driftless Music Festival 2025 - VIROQUA

Yes — the weather was perfect.
Yes — the bands were absolutely incredible Dylan Harris & Good Company, Ladies Must Swing Big Band, The Trouble Notes steez We Are The Willows, one after another, creating a soundtrack that seriously made our day!

There was amazing food that fed both our festival-goers and musicians, local craft vendors and community organizations who brought their own color and joy to the day.
Our amazing sound crew that made the experience as perfect as the day itself.
And there were the babies, the kids, the teenagers, the parents and grandparents — all finding their place on the lawn, on the dance floor or under the trees - all IN the MUSIC.

Our volunteers didn’t just show up — they gave it their all. Pouring drinks, selling merch, sharing smiles, and dancing along the way. Their good energy shaped the entire day.

We can't thank our sponsors, the Viroqua Chamber & tourism council and our raffle donors enough too - local businesses, government and individuals. Their belief in our work and how it positively impacts the community is why they give - we are so very thankful as they help keep the festival free and the good times rollin for all of us!

What we witnessed together was a beautiful reminder that something real and meaningful is happening here. All those happy faces, all that good publicity for our city, all the ways people felt connected — it tells us we’re doing something right.

Please carry that feeling with you. Let it move your creativity, your kindness, your belief in what’s possible in your own community. Look out for your neighbor. Share that song. Hug that friend. Make a new friend. Great live music connects us like nothing else.

And as long as you keep showing up — open to a great experience — we’ll keep bringing the great music.
