Carla Rio started her passion for photography back in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, she was 14 years old when she started studying photography with Ricardo de Holanda. After completing her photography classes, Carla applied for an internship at the age of 15 at one of the most prestigious newspapers in Brazil the Jornal do Brasil. Her father Umberto Rio helped her through her career, he really believed

in her talent. Evandro Teixeira her guru taught Carla the art of photojournalism, and how to look through the lens with a unique style. In 1989 Carla was accepted at Theobaldo D' Nigris, the most reputable Graphic Technology School in Brazil. While going to school Carla continued her career as a photojournalist in Sao Paulo city. She worked for Diario Popular, and right after her graduation she was hired at age of 22 to work as a full-time photojournalist at Diario do Grande ABC. Carla completed her internship at WBrazil one of the most awarded agencies in the world. At age 24 Carla started her photography business, she was inspired by a good friend of hers Ricard Daim, he recognized her talent and gave her the opportunities she needed to succeed. She had clients as Toyota/Brazil, GM/Brazil, Brazilian Federation of Automotive, various magazines, and newspapers. She worked with well-known writers, photographers, and personalities as Orlando Brito, Evandro Teixeira, Xico Vargas, Ricardo Phitipaldi, and other well-known journalists. She worked as a freelance photographer at San Diego Union-Tribune. Carla Rio is dedicated to continuing to capture stunning images and memories for you and your loved ones. She currently lives in San Diego with her lovely husband and son.

Crepes Recipe

Ingredients:
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 large eggs
• 1 1/2 cups milk
• 2 tablespoons melted butter
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon sugar (for sweet crepes)
• Cooking spray or extra butter for cooking

Directions:
1. In a blender, combine the flour, eggs, milk, melted butter, salt, and sugar (if making sweet crepes). Blend until the batter is smooth. Allow the batter to rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
2. Heat a non-stick skillet or crepe pan over medium heat. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of butter.
3. Pour a small amount of batter into the hot skillet, swirling it to coat the bottom evenly. Cook for about 1-2 minutes or until the edges start to lift.
4. Carefully flip the crepe using a spatula and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
5. Remove the cooked crepe from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.
6. Serve the crepes with your choice of sweet or savory fillings, such as Nutella, fresh berries, whipped cream, ham, cheese, or sautéed vegetables.
