HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM WAITING LIST OPENING ON MONDAY MAY 6, 2024, UNTIL FRIDAY MAY 10, 2024
The Daytona Beach Housing Authority will be accepting applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program wait list starting at 8:30 a.m. on May 6, 2024. The waiting list will remain open until 5 p.m. on May 10, 2024. At that time, the waiting list will close, and no further applications will be accepted.
The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federally funded rental assistance program provided by the Department of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for low-income households.
A computer lottery system will be used to randomly select two- thousand applications to be placed on the waitlist. The preferences selected by the applicant will be used in determining the position on the waitlist.
Applications will not be available in the Daytona Beach Housing Authority offices and fax requests will not be accepted. Applicants may use any computer, tablet, or smartphone with Internet access to apply, including free use of computers at public libraries no paper applications will be accepted.

Under the Housing Choice Voucher Program, renters select their own unit from Daytona Beach rental market. Renters initially pay between 30% - 40% of their adjusted monthly income for rent. Housing Authority pays the remaining contract of the rent to the landlord.
Those selected for the program receive guidance on program requirements, tenant rights and responsibilities.
