Happy New Year from Camp Erdman! Starting the new year off fresh with a FRESH coat of paint! Big mahalo to for their beautiful work the last month on our Hanai Pono building- restoring its beauty for years to come!

Mahalo Mālama Learning Center for devoting their time and knowledge to Camp Erdman yesterday, and for helping us bring our long awaited plant nursery to life! We constructed plant beds, removed surrounding invasive species, and solidified long term plans and day-to-day care of the nursery. 🌱🪴To conclude the day, Jenna, Mālama Deputy Director, talked story with us about her experiences along journeys with the Polynesian Voyaging Society, and how the Hawaiian Star Compass is used to orient the wa’a to the rising and setting points of stars. ✨🌌

Our Marine Biology Museum is where students become scientists 👩🏻‍🔬🧪Studying and learning to classify species, students engage with marine organisms, learning about their unique behaviours and relationships with the environment! 🪸🪼🐋🦑🐠 Students then apply what they’ve learned, working together to protect our ecosystems by removing microplastics from the land!

Calling All Artists! 🎨 We’re so excited to announce the launch of our Camp T-Shirt Design Contest! The inspiration? YOUR Camp Memories! To enter, simply create a design that captures the feeling and experience of being at Camp Erdman and submit it using the QR Code, mail it to us, or come say hello and drop it off in person. 💌 The winner’s design will be printed and sold in our Camp Store and will receive a free copy of their shirt! This week concluded our first two days of Erdman on Wheels! We traveled to Kuhio Elementary and Hahaione Elementary for a series of team building exercises, games, and other fun programming. It’s always a great day when we are able to spread the magic beyond camp! 🚌
