We started propagating torch ginger from seeds about 4 years ago and we are finally starting to reap the rewards! One of the major benefits of growing from seed is possible variations. However, this process is not for the impatient, as it takes approximately 3-5 years for a torch ginger to flower from seed. We really pulled this one out of our a** and we were pretty impressed with how it came out! We had 3 hours to harvest, design, transport, and install for a friends party. We had absolutely no idea what we were going to do and it just came together as we were harvesting what was available. We started to see what we could use and the color palette that was working well together and just let it organically develop. We were able to utilize a lot of our flowers that were too mature or over bloomed, which we wouldn’t have used for a client. Which is always nice because we hate flowers going to waste! It also really forced us to be creative with only what was available as we didn’t purchase anything for this.
