Transplanted from Maryland to South Carolina, grafted together, and blossoming into a beautiful forever--Melanie and Michael have a relationship that has weathered storms of life as well as stood the test of time. Surrounded by family and friends who were bursting at the seams to celebrate these two and their commitment to forever, these two (and their dogs) made official a bond that was already unbreakable, and I and the guests were made all the better for being there to join in it.

Going through footage after a wedding day you get a chance to notice a lot of the little things that you miss in all the hustle and chaos. And in nearly every shot of these two I saw the same thing—how they look at each other. How they would steal little glances or catch their partner’s eye and smile, overflowing with love. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Raines and finding their perfect match in an unlikely place!

We don't always get to know our couples beyond a phone call or two, and following them on social media. We could tell that Hannah was excited to marry Austin and that they were crazy about each other, but it wasn't until we got there that we could truly see--this is a couple that was made for each other and they knew it. It's so amazing to be able to be part of a day that celebrates a match and a love like that, and such an honor to be the ones to capture it on video.

Creating a wedding film is not easy. When the wedding day is over, the couple departs on their honeymoon, the cake is eaten, and all the flowers and decorations have been bundled away, my work is just beginning. And I sit down at the computer and watch the footage--imagining the finished product, throwing out unusable clips, while grinning, laughing, or crying at the beautiful ones. I choose just the right music that suits the vibe of the video and the couple's day, and I start to trim here, slide there, until a film starts to emerge. Then I watch it back, with all the best intentions of sticking to a time limit, and think "there is just too much on the table to cut it like this".
Angie and Trent had the kind of wedding day that makes it downright painful to cut anything. Their beautiful love and doting friends, easygoing personalities, and gorgeous colors and decor left me with a wedding film that felt unfinished until I said "to heck with time limits" and just edited it the way I wanted it. Can't choose which song to use? Use both! Take all the Drew & Ellie Holcomb love songs, put them together, and you get what Angela and Trent share. And sometimes that's worth a little bit longer video and a recut at the editing desk.
A Million Dreams and a Million Prayers - Daria + Dylan
Daria and Dylan are a simply amazing couple. They shower everyone around them with such love that you feel like family immediately. Not only that, but their wedding day was just so beautiful and so fun, including their family and friends--it's the kind of wedding that we walk away from and talk about for weeks. It's the kind that you want to attend every weekend. And it's the kind that creates a marriage that withstands even the worst hardships just like their relationship has up to this point. I hope that comes across in this film, because I want everyone to experience the love of every relationship and every wedding day the same way I get to!
Although I’m a South Carolina native, this was my first trip to Saint Matthews, SC. I had no idea accents were different, chicken perlo was a delicious food, wedding schedules had time for fishing, or how intensely these two wanted to be married to each other.

Being truly thankful for the person standing next to you, sincerely grateful that you were given the opportunity to know them and the privilege of being someone that they love. True love looks like thankfulness.
