Today, we observe Trans Day of Remembrance — a day to honor the memory of transgender individuals whose lives were tragically taken by acts of anti-trans violence.

We remember them. We say their names. And we reaffirm our commitment to standing with the transgender community today and every day.

Together, we strive for a future where everyone can live authentically and safely.

Did you know that LGBTQIA+ young people who experience bullying are three times more likely to attempt su***de than those who are not bullied?

As we kick off Anti-Bullying Awareness Week, Garrett County Pride stands with LGBTQIA+ youth, recognizing the urgent need to foster environments where everyone can live openly & authentically without fear. Together, we can build a community where bullying is no longer the norm.

Let’s commit to educating ourselves, speaking up, and taking action against bullying. This isn’t just a step toward change — it’s a step toward saving lives.

Bullying affects us all, and we all play a role in ending it. By fostering awareness and compassion, we can empower each other to speak up, stand up, and support one another.

This election season has been tough, leaving many of us feeling uncertain and overwhelmed. But we’re still here — together. Garrett County Pride stands for support, inclusivity & hope for a brighter future for everyone.

Q***r folks are an integral part of the fabric of Maryland and Garrett County, and we will always have a place here! Existing is the most powerful form of protest, and in community we find comfort and strength. As Jeremy Browning, Director of the Maryland Commission on LGBTQIA+ Affairs, reminds us: “Now, more than ever, we must stand together in Maryland to support and uplift our LGBTQIA+ communities.”

Our mission remains strong: to create a safe, welcoming, and affirming community for all. We’ll keep advocating, uplifting & celebrating each other. Let’s lean on one another, move forward with kindness, and stay resilient. 🏳️‍🌈❤️
