Our Story
Sampson's Hollow is an event facility that will provide the storybook location for any special event or gathering. The naturally landscaped farmland has been in the family for over 130 years. The rural, yet graceful environment has history filled with lore and legends of the Appalachian heritage of the area. The property provides the brides with many options of beautiful locations at which to hold a wedding ceremony. The farm is peaceful and tranquil, with only the sounds of nature to enhance your special day. Looking for a destination wedding in the Great Smoky Mountains? Sampson's Hollow farm is ideal for the couple looking to marry near Cades Cove in Townsend, Tennessee. Cades Cove is one of the most popular destinations within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park located on the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies." Sampson's Hollow offers the best of scenic views, wildflower meadows and rolling pastures for a beautiful wedding, natural photographs, and lasting memories of your wedding near Cades Cove. Features of the property include a primitive-chic barn with warm hardwood flooring, walls and ceiling, central heat and air as well as: * Combining the front and side porch and the interior great room will provide seated space for approximately 30 – 150 guests, depending on size of tables and arrangement of space. Three barn doors open up the facility and the grounds surrounding the barn can provide ample room to seat additional guests.
Several locations to choose from for your ceremony, depending on the size of your guest list and the season of the year. Sarah’s Glen is in the middle of a cathedral of trees and woodland. The ceremony site features a center wooden arbor with two vintage wooden doors, on each side. There are rustic smaller arbors on the left and right. A stacked stone set of stairs allows the bride to be presented at the top before descending and walking toward her groom. The filtered sunlight in more humid months provides for a slight decrease in the temperature while still enjoying the beauty of the outside.
The Pergola in the Meadow offers a panoramic view of the mountains on three sides, with blooming wildflowers in season. The pergola is a buttermilk white wooden structure and can be decorated by your choice of florist or with fresh greenery and white draping that is provided with every package. The center of the pergola features a crystal chandelier.
Every bride fears bad weather, whether it be rain, sleet, snow or intense heat. Our stunning covered front porch allows our brides to have a back-up plan in case of in-climate weather without sacrificing her first desire in having an outdoor wedding -- the mountains and meadows serve as the background for the ceremony. * A half-loft on the second floor can be used as needed for the bridal party to get ready with a beautiful stairwell from which the bride can toss her bouquet. As the sun goes down, guests will enjoy sitting around the outdoor fire pit at the edge of the barn, swaying on the swings and relaxing in the crisp mountain air. * One bedroom cabin designed with romance in mind, embellished with antiques and collectibles. Exceptional amenities include whirlpool tub, an old-fashioned claw foot tub, welcome basket, walk-in shower, and a four-poster queen size bed with a complementary rose-petal turn-down upon request of the guest.
