Sally the butterfly.

This is Sally.
Her sister, Cindy, broke out of her chrysalis and flew off to do her butterfly thing.
Sally, however, busted out of her chrysalis, took a fall, and because of it, her wings formed a curve. As a result, she cannot fly…
So guess what! - I have a pet butterfly. The misfits always find me….
The last few days, she’s hung out on the deck with flowers to climb and eat from. At night, she is placed in her tent, and sleeps. She likes over ripe bananas and oranges, and of course, nectar from fresh flowers.
She’s not too fond of berries. We will continue this routine until she moves on, one way or another.
I’ve learned that butterflies have personalities, likes, and dislikes. Nature is amazing. Who would’ve thought I could befriend an insect?
Sally, you’re home.

Hamburglar
I’ve been mainly designing with homegrown stuff lately, and right now, the garden doesn’t have a ton of flowers yet. But if the new growth is any indication on turnout, Spring is looking good!
In the meantime, you get Walter and his hamburger.

My heart has been in a million pieces since saying goodbye to Pixie. She was everything. In order to help heal my heart and do something in her honor, I looked for another rescue. How these sweet souls end up on the euthanasia list, I will never understand.
Pixie, you were/are perfect. My sweet little furry soulmate. I will love you and miss you forever. I hope you will approve of the newbie. I’m sure you will. You loved everybody (except Leo).

Pixie, the fairy, immortal. I’ve been lucky to be with you all these years. But I guess it was time to move on, back to where you came from. I will miss your physical presence here, but I’ll look up into the night sky, at the twinkling stars and know you’re watching over me

After a beautiful wedding yesterday, I hung out all day with my best friend, today. She snuggled in my hoodie, we enjoyed the fall sunshine, and we did absolutely nothing. It was a good day.

Welp. New dude had an adventure today. He likes to climb screens, which is annoying. It was cute when he was kitten-sized, but in the short time he’s been here, he’s become a loaf.
Anyway, today, he climbed a screen, it gave out, and he fell 3 stories 😳. What’s worse? I didn’t know it because I was not home. Thank goodness my neighbor noticed the dangling screen and called me. And thank goodness my boy was air tagged. After a bit of searching the neighborhood while following his AirTag, he nonchalantly walked out to me from under a hydrangea bush.
No broken bones, a full set of teeth, a seismic purr, and an appetite like no other, I’m happy to report he’s home, healthy, and sleeping snuggly.

Well, we were supposed to be in Tahoe this week, but everything got cancelled for obvious reasons. So instead, a spontaneous trip to Moss Landing took place. Then, THIS happened. A small whale came directly towards us!!!! My heart is with the people, trees, and mountains in Tahoe, but I’m glad we got to reconnect with the ocean, and all that it inhabits.
