The program includes delightful pieces such as Telemann's Canary Cantata, selections from Wadsworth's The Bad Child's Book of Beasts, Delibes' Flower Duet from Lakmé, and a selection of Schubert compositions, all following nature themes. Directed by Robert Geary, Volti is dedicated to the discovery, creation, and performance of new vocal music. The ensemble’s mission is to foster and showcase contemporary American music and composers, and to introduce contemporary vocal music from around the world to local audiences. The group has commissioned more than 100 new works, by emerging as well as established composers.
At St. Paul's, Volti will perform a ca****la pieces by the composers Tania León, Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, Aftab Darvishi, Jens Ibsen, and Eric Tuan. After the performance, we will indulge the audience in a Q&A session with our performers.
