Artist Spotlight: Dane Suarez, tenor
Artist Spotlight: Dane Suarez
Here, Dane Suarez shares a beautiful performance of “La fleur que tu m’avais jetée” from Carmen, a teaser for his upcoming performance with us in the role of Don José. Dane is the embodiment of today’s opera professional - creative, multi-talented, and polished. This video was produced remotely, with the pianist’s part pre-recorded; a necessity in creating music while upholding covid safety protocols. Beautifully done, Dane! ✨✨
We’re excited he will be joining us in 2021, bringing this intense role to life at Festival Opera!
Artist Spotlight: Peter Crompton
Festival Opera is so fortunate to have artist collaborators like Peter Crompton, who takes us on a journey behind the scenes in this video! Watch a bit of the process: from concept to final product, learn how an opera set is born, and how every part of the process in Festival Opera productions encourages and thrives on collaboration.
As we wrap up our #30DaysofThanks, we celebrate all of our artists and the tremendous talents they bring to our stage. We’re filled with hope and excitement for our 2021 season, and can’t wait to bring our team together again!

Here’s a little behind the scenes look at Festival Opera’s role in the nurturing of our artists. Look for a clip of Marnie singing an excerpt from “Our Town” in our next post!
We are grateful to our artists for their dedication and care, and will continue to provide a home base and nurturing for the work of these artists - both emerging and established - on our stages.
Young Artist Spotlight: Lily Bogas, mezzo-soprano
Young Artist Spotlight: Mezzo-soprano and Eastman School of Music freshman, Lily Bogas adds her voice to our 30 Days of Thanks!
