Benton Farms " Benton Family Farm"

Benton Farms " Benton Family Farm" Meet the 3,4,5th generations still involved in the goal of teaching Agricultural Education to our children and families on this Non-profit 501c3 working farm.

We have many activities for all ages. We are offering smaller group activities due to COVID 19. Farm Education our parents main goal, and to keep this farm around for generation after generation so all can know what a family farm is, was and will always be. It's their life... the land, the memories, hard times, dealing with Mother Nature, keeping his Family Hertiage alive long after they leave thi

s farm. Volunteers make this family farm operate and continue on, want to join up? We switched to nonprofit 501c3 in 2011 with our committed mission to be agricultural education, we need support to continue on. Donations can be made to help send children on our field trips or summer camp! Many schools with our current economy have stopped school outings and limit to even one or none at some schools, so help us make the call and help get these children out onto a real farm. Serving the community for over 35 years now. Thank You for your support! Our Grandparents came here in 1941 and the generations continue to farm to educate the community. Over 4000 school children come to the farm in field trips. 16 years of summer farm camp developing dedicated youth with integrity and appreciation of where our food comes from and preservation of farm land. We have college interns who have been successful in jobs at Tyson, Alaskan Fishery’ Trident, Veterinary services and Animal Shelters, High-school Agricultural teachers, Brewery management and Australia International business. We are so proud of our campers, counselors and college interns over the years!! Mr and Mrs Benton thrived on the development of the youth and volunteerism.

It was too beautiful not to share.

The Perfect Send Off 🙏🏻❤️😇
It was Friday, November 8th, a crisp and cool morning in Boone County Kentucky. The sky was mostly clear, with a few whispering clouds, but a clear path to heaven. Our sister Tracy was to be laid to rest. We were heading to the Benton Farm which was Tracy’s second home. We pulled in the drive , down the bumpy asphalt and gravel road toward the gathering barn. It was like onboard Noah’s Ark, I saw cats, goats, chickens, horses, a donkey and even the lama. Like they were looking for Tracy. Not knowing they would never see her again. She loved them all and knew everyone’s name. It was kinda weird feeling but it seemed as if they knew.
Once pulling ourselves together, it was time to see to our baby sister for the last time. Dressed in a red dress, hair and makeup all done, laced in diamonds, She was beautiful, a white coffin trimmed with gold. Exactly what she would have wanted. “The Keeper of the Stars “ playing softly with pictures of her and Charles on the tv. That was their song, and always danced to it. I don’t think that barn has ever seen so many crying eyes. Reverend LD Campbell, long time friend of theirs held the service. Outstanding gentleman and Pastor. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is when he said, Tracy was a gift from God, she was never meant to be ours forever, And to heaven, she goes! Once we made it through the service, And a few boxes of Kleenex, we were ready to head to the cemetery. Unbeknown we were going to be escorted by about eight sheriffs, And almost everyone on the road in the opposite direction pulls over to show respect for the deceased. Some thing I’ve never seen before. It was only a 10 minute ride to the cemetery through the rolling Hills of Boone County., into the middle of nowhere. We laid her to rest on the hillside., near a shade tree, facing the west. It was so beautiful, which makes it so hard to let go.. we love you, Tracy! 🙏🏻❤️🥲🥲🥲
With a special thanks to Charles , Benton Farm, Mary, Tony, Josh, Jarod & LD ❤️ and everyone else that helped and participated in making it a beautiful sad day!
