Sad day today. My music friend that started me playing bass when I was around 14 years old in the Country Roads has passed. He always stayed in close contact throughout my career. Harold Stuckwisch is his name, he played drums and sang with an amazing strong country voice. I played with him from 1976 until around 1980. We opened up for Elvis's backup singers, J.D. Summer and the Stamps. We played for Michael Twitty, Conway's son as his backup band. We played many bars and festivals during my stint in the band. Harold went on to record in Nashville and brought home 45's to put on the juke boxes, they are also being played today by Brian's Man Cave on Z93.9 Radio Keokuk. These song were written for Harold to sing by the famous Johnny McCollum who penned the Sante Fe All The Way hit. He wrote songs for Toby Keith, Clint Black, James Brown, Farron Young, John Michael Montgomery and Tiny Tim, to name a few. He helped kick start many musicians careers including, Mike "Cookie" Jones who played with Barbara Mandrell's band. He always had a history story to tell of all the musicians he had the honor to play with.
You will be very missed Harold, I'll help keep your legend alive with the recordings I have of you!
