Early this year we made the difficult decision to close our business due to a shortage of staff. Yesterday was the first day of our 3 day auction. The day started with a touching phone call from a woman named Sheila. Sheila, YOU MADE OUR DAY with your kind words and sincerity as you spoke in appreciation of the work we had done for you. Your call meant everything as you wanted absolutely nothing but to wish us well and share your love. Thank you!
During the day, we had many people come through to inspect the party rental equipment they were interested in. We were on hand to answer questions and enjoyed the day immensely. We were deeply touched by the overwhelming kindness, love and support from the many people that we met and spoke with. You came from near and far. We heard some amazing stories of the events we did for you and your families over the years. We enjoyed the many stories as you walked us right down memory lane of our 56 years in the party rental business. Wow, just wow. We were one of RI’s largest, premiere tent and party equipment rental stores. Some of your stories brought us to tears, (all good tears). Many of you told us, it was definitely the end of an era when we closed our doors. We have been a huge part of RI, MA and CT and we didn’t realize the true impact we made but hearing it was something we will always remember and be thankful for.
We wanted to thank all of you that came out yesterday, introduced yourselves and shared your stories of the struggles, you are facing today, as business owners. We completely understand and our hearts truly go out to all of you. We appreciate the way you spoke from your hearts. It really meant the world to us. Our auction will continue and tomorrow as the bids begin to close out, a huge part of our lives will then be used in the lives of many others. We hope you have events to cherish for a lifetime. It’s what we were all about. In our business, we brought people together and that is what we will miss the most. All bids for this auction can be placed online at sjcorio.com. We have been working aggressively and it appears we are on track for the second or third week of May.
We hope to have the auction link in the coming days. As soon as the link becomes available, it will be posted at the top of this thread. The link will include all the details regarding the walk thru product inspection hours and the online auction dates and hours. Once again, please do not private message, call or email us for product info or private pre-auction sales, as we can not do that. Thank you.

4/15/22 - Update: We are making great progress. We continue to prepare, tag and photograph products. We are looking to have this auction by the second week of May. This is not a definite date, just a guestimate based on current progress. We have a massive inventory and this is taking longer than expected. We are almost half way thru the tagging of products. After that, SJ Corio will upload all info to his site. We expect to have an auction link posted by last week of April, or first week of May. I will try to update these posts weekly to keep you informed as we progress. Thank you for your patience.

4/7/22 - Stay tuned!! Rhode Island Rentals will be conducting a large online auction to liquidate all party rental equipment. RI Rentals closed its doors in February and we will be selling off our entire massive inventory of tents, tables, chairs, linen, dish, glassware, flatware, concession machines, hardwood flooring, dance flooring, grills, lighting and so much more. Further announcements will be posted on our FB and Instagram pages. Follow to see the announcements coming in the next 10 days. If you would like to have an idea of the various products we are selling, go to our website at www.rirental.com and click the menu, select the products you would like to see, example chairs, and it will show all the types of chairs we carry. Those are the products that will be auctioned. The product pricing you see on our site, was what we were renting it for prior to closing our doors. That pricing listed on our website is NOT the sales price. All product descriptions and information will be shown on the auction link. I will update this post with the auction link, as soon as it becomes available. Auction will be conducted by SJ Corio Company.
Please do not send private messages to acquire equipment prior to the auction, as we are not able to conduct any pre-auction sales. SJ Corio is currently tagging and photographing our products now. Hope to have the auction in the next 2-3 weeks. Thank you!!

To our valued customers, vendors, friends and family, It is with a heavy heart I am announcing Rhode Island Rentals will close its doors permanently on February 11, 2022.

My grandfather started RI Rentals in 1965, operating out of a small storefront in Warwick RI, with small hand tool sales and rentals. In the early 80’s my adventures began in the tent business and during my 40 years we grew to a full-service construction and premiere tent and party equipment rental company, serving RI, MA and CT. We were blessed to tent many epic events, including presidential events, Providences First Night, Rhythm and Roots, Newport Folk Fest and so many more.
We were honored to be part of the many large and small events that bring people together. After 56 years, its truly the end of an era.

In the hospitality industry, we bond with our customers in a way that no other type of business does. We celebrate life’s milestones, graduations, engagement parties, weddings, anniversary parties, baby showers, christenings, summer parties, holiday parties and more. Your families have become our family. We have met some great people with whom we’ve cultivated wonderful, long-lasting friendships.

I have made the difficult decision to retire due to the numerous business challenges brought on by Covid19. Covid19 presented the event industry with many obstacles and major staffing challenges that we simply could not overcome. Without a complete qualified staff, we are not able to service our customers with the highest quality standards we hold ourselves to. The decision to close the doors was a difficult one that I did not take lightly.

To the many people that allowed RI Rentals to be part of your event, thank you for your support. Your creativity was our passion and I appreciate you allowing RI Rentals the opportunity to make your vision a reality.

Thank you to the many talented past and present employees who over the years, gave their all to make Rhode Island Rentals a premiere tent and party equipment rental company. To my current team, my deepest thanks and appreciation to you. You are exceptional beyond words, a joy to work with and you will be missed tremendously. Thank you for being part of my family.

We sincerely apologize to the many people that currently have reservations with RI Rentals for future events. During the next two weeks we will be returning all deposits that we are currently holding. Please allow up to two weeks to receive this by mail.
