We have just launched the Fine Book Fairs Society, a membership program for those interested in rare books, social and literary events. We will pilot the program in Philadelphia.

An annual membership costs $200. It includes:

Kickoff party in Philadelphia (Spring 2025, details TBD)
An Evening with Hugo Vickers, Philadelphia, April 4th (details TBD)
One run of show ticket to the Indianapolis Rare Book Fair, April 25th-26th (cash value $50)
One run of show ticket to the Capital Rare Book Fair, May 2nd-4th (cash value $60)
One run of show ticket to the Empire State Rare Book and Print Fair, September 26th-28th (cash value $75)
One run of show ticket to the Philadelphia Rare Book Fair, December 4th-6th (cash value $60)

We will be scheduling a series of social events, talks, readings and mixers throughout the year, mostly in Philadelphia.

Join us for the Philadelphia Rare Book and Print Fair at the 23rd Street Armory from December 6th to 8th.

We have some exciting guests! The fair will open on Friday night with a special performance by Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket, who will play at 7 pm. Tickets cost $60, including access to the fair, drinks and canapes.

We have a packed schedule of talks on Saturday. We will open at 1 pm with a talk by Professor David Greven of the University of South Carolina, who will talk about how Melville was influenced by Shakespeare. Historic document dealer Seth Kaller and Prof. Kermit Roosevelt will discuss the constitution and how it should be interpreted with a series of historic documents at 2 pm. At 3 pm, award-winning author Katherine Paterson will discuss her career, answer questions and sign books. Local author Cordelia Biddle will talk about her books about the Philadelphia area at 4 pm. Finally, at 5 pm collectors Angelo Cifaldi Lindsay Doering, Gerald Peary and head of special collections at the Free Library of Philadelphia Janine Po***ck will take us through the ins and outs of book collecting.

Tickets for all the talks include entry to the Philadelphia Rare Book and Print Fair, which will features tens of thousands of books, prints, ephemera and historic documents. They cost $15, $10 for students and under 16s go free.
