Professor Kermit Roosevelt of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School will be in conversation with Elliot C. Rothenberg, a leading legal mind who has won cases about the First Amendment rights of media organizations at the Supreme Court, about media freedoms and the First Amendment.

David versus Goliath still lives. Listen to the inspiring story of how one lawyer singlehandedly took a case - that all the experts dismissed as having no chance of success - all the way to the Supreme Court in a landmark First Amendment case. We invite you to hear the inspiring story of Cohen v. Cowles Media, 501 U.S. 663 (1991), and then discuss current First Amendment issues with Professor Roosevelt. Elliotโ€™s story is not just for lawyers but for everyone interested in books and freedom of publication. There are life lessons from the case that should give hope to all of us. We encourage you to come to our program, to ask questions, and to engage in a spirited discussion.

You won't want to miss this discussion. Entry is included with the Philadelphia Rare Book Fair, which will take place at 2212 Spruce Street. Tickets cost $15, $10 for students and under 16s go free!
