Today, we spotlight , a global advocate for equity in tech and a powerful Tech Catalyst, Global Citizen, and Storyteller. With a background in mechanical engineering and business leadership, Janeen has driven transformative change in the tech industry through her results-oriented leadership and advocacy for justice.

She currently serves as the first-ever CEO of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the largest Black STEM community in the U.S. Prior to NSBE, Janeen was COO of Wikipedia and helped launch the Wikimedia Knowledge Fund to address racial inequities. She also spent nearly two decades at GE, working globally, including as an expat in Africa.

In 2022, Janeen joined us at The Gathering Spot, where she shared her journey and vision for creating more equity in tech. Her dedication to inclusive leadership continues to inspire our community to drive progress and opportunity.

A major security breach unfolded when top national security officials for President Trump, including his defense secretary, accidentally shared military strike plans for Yemen in a secure messaging app—revealing sensitive details about upcoming operations against Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The group chat, which also included The Atlantic editor-in-chief, contained information about targets, weapons, and attack strategies, all of which were supposed to be confidential. Just hours after the information was shared, U.S. airstrikes began targeting Houthi positions in Yemen.

The National Security Council confirmed the authenticity of the leaked text chain, sparking concerns about the handling of sensitive military operations.

Meet , an award-winning entrepreneur, philanthropist, and economic activist dedicated to empowering communities through business and innovation.

Inspired by her mother’s business plans at 11, she founded Walker’s Legacy, a platform empowering women entrepreneurs, and its nonprofit arm, the Walker’s Legacy Foundation, which supports financial literacy and economic security. She also established a $25,000 scholarship at Howard University for aspiring women entrepreneurs.

As co-founder of the $14M Coalition to Back Black Business, Natalie helped fund nearly 1,000 Black-owned businesses during the pandemic. She also launched the Capital Ready Coalition, uniting Black women’s organizations to drive economic empowerment. Through her work, she’s proving that business can be a force for lasting change!
