The last day of the International Teachers of Floristry Seminar. I was paired with to create a series of four designs using grading to move from formal linear (which I did the first two) to decorative (beautifully done by Mike). We had three great days working with a greater understanding of European design theory and design. Many thanks to for giving us his wealth of knowledge. Also a shout out to and for absolutely fantastic product, and to for being fantastic hosts.❤️ 🌸

This design for Day 2 of the International Floristry Teachers Seminar was definitely out of my comfort zone. The garden style designs are not my forte, and very opposite my minimalist style. However it did give me a chance to reconfigure my buddleia branch structure and create a more natural flower support to hold the flower stems.

Day one of the International Floristry Teachers Seminar was about linking concepts to create a new way of thinking. My design is linking structure and line together. I also chose to have a lot of transparency, and used very fine lines of buddleia to do this.

🌿 Regeneration 🌿 I’m thrilled to share my design from this year’s Hoogstraten in groenten & bloemen—my third year participating in this incredible event, guided by the brilliant @tom_de_houwer . His BloomUp Masterclasd has truly opened new doors for me, shaping my journey as a floral designer. This year, my theme is Regeneration. Just as a fallen tree feeds the forest floor, giving life to new growth, I aim to breathe new energy into botanical materials. Each piece I create is a humble tribute to nature’s inherent magic—because while we can reinterpret it, we can never truly improve it. Here is my design for this year’s @artinbloom.dc . I chose to interpret Study of Two Pages by Artist José Villegas which was created in 1882. The juxtaposition of the two figures drew me in, even though I believe that both were a study for a solitary figure painting. As for the color palette, it one that I go to often, and I need to remind myself at times to try to get out of my comfort zone. This design was mostly made from several other designs that I completely broke down and reused. My wonky star design for my parents house for Christmas. I made the star last year from @flower.thinking ‘s festive thinking course online. I had left it here last year to use this year, and really glad I did. Two single pink mink protea bunches from Trader Joe’s and voila a minimal Christmas design.
