This is one of my all time favorite images that I've shot in the Great Lakes. It's meaningful because It was a fun day with friends that are no longer with us (Jim and Susan). We spent several summers together in the Great Lakes and I can still feel their excitement helping me out with this shot. The Side wheel steamer Detroit is a beautiful ship that sank in a collision in 1854. Those intact wooden paddle wheels always leave me in awe even after they've been underwater for 170 years!
