The day is nearly upon us, and we've introduced you to many of the talented artists providing the soundtrack on the evening - now let's meet the man of the hour, the one and only Degs!
To properly honor this man, we have to flash back to this exclusive clip. Our first exposure to Degs was at SUN AND BASS 2018; the scene was at La Cinta Beach. Degs' smash hit "Poveglia", which he wrote, arranged, and sang in collaboration with long-time friend De:Tune, just hit the airwaves and rapidly ascended to anthem status across the globe as "a new sound" in Drum & Bass.
In this scene with BCee on the controls and Degs emceeing and singing, Degs seemed elevated, energetic, unstoppable. He commanded the crowd to the point where everyone was reciting the words to his song, only smiles could be seen, hands waving in the air seemingly passing positive vibrations back through throngs of adoring music lovers. This was, is the future of Drum & Bass. 🔊💯
And it was just the beginning for Degs. He has cemented himself as one of the most dynamic artists in the scene today, representing Hospital Records where he hosts the seminal Hospital Records podcast. He is a singer, songwriter, DJ, producer, arranger, emcee, pianist, guitarist, and so much more. From his release of Poveglia in 2018, to his debut album on Hospital in 2020, Letters From Ndegwa, & collaborations with his brother as "Kikiyu Soul" and with top artists like S.P.Y, Hugh Hardie, Makoto, Unglued, Grafix, Etherwood, Bcee, Nu:Tone, and so many more.... It's no wonder that Degs' meteoric rise into drum & bass royalty has cemented him as a mainstay across the globe. 🌎🎶
