✨ A Glimpse into Timeless Love ✨

We are honored to share these treasured moments from the wedding of Mr. & Mrs. Leo A. Santowasso, who exchanged vows in our beloved chapel on August 31, 1957. ❤️ Emily Francis and Leo’s love story began in little Washington, where Emily lived on E 14th Street. These beautiful memories were shared with us by their family, and we're grateful to help keep this history alive.

💒ALL ABOUT MIZPAH CHAPEL💒

The Parish Chapel next to the home was constructed due to the generosity of Mrs. Cogan, a devout Catholic woman from New York. As Mrs. Cogan spent her last days on earth, she shared her wishes with her husband to give a grand donation to a small mission chapel, in lieu of an elaborate funeral. Her husband honored her last request, and as a result, The Chapel was dedicated in 1929 and became known throughout the community as St. Agnes Catholic Church of Washington.❤️

💡ALL ABOUT MIZPAH MANOR💡

The Ward house (now the Mizpah Manor) as it was known was originally constructed in 1906 by the Honorable Judge Hallet C. Ward. In 1937, the home transferred hands and became the residence for the Sisters of the St. Agnes Covenant Immaculate Heart Community, as well as the St. Agnes Academy. Classes for the Academy were held in the downstairs portion of the home while the nuns resided in the upstairs quarters until 1948.✨
