ATTENTION ALL MY HOUSE CLIENTS: One week from today is the annual Point in Time count for the Mat-Su Valley and we will have FREE PIZZA for anyone 14-25 from 11 a.m. to close here at the drop-in center located at 300 N. Willow Street in Wasilla. (Breakfast snacks will be available from opening to 11) This is an opportunity to check in with you and see how you are doing, and we would love for you to join us! This is also a chance for anyone 25 or under who is homeless or unstably housed and not a client to gain access to services here at MY House. We encourage you to please stop by the building on Tuesday January 28th to fill out a brief survey, grab some food and chat with staff. There will also be a Coffee & Paint event held in the cafe from 2-3:30 that day hosted by the Mat-Su YAB. Please share with those you know who is in our service age range, we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

You may not be able to keep power lines up or transformers from going down, but when outages hit do you have a space heating device that doesn’t emit carbon monoxide, such as a catalytic heater (or one that can be vented)? Do you have 7 gallons of water per person/pet? And do you have battery powered, directional or lantern lighting to prevent falls or accidents? These essentials can keep you safe, whether the outage is for an hour or all day! Art Nash, Energy Specialist with the UAF Cooperative Extension Service, is available to answer your questions so you can make sure you’re prepared! Reach out to Art Nash at 907-474-6366, [email protected].
