It’s almost May which means wedding season is in FULL force over here! We are closing our final details for many of my full-service wedding planning couples & things are starting to really heat up for my Month Of Coordination couples!

All final timelines have gone out for my June couples (yes, even day of coordination 💁🏻‍♀️) and we are well into July & August! Whether you’re hiring us for day-of coordination or full-service planning, we start working on that detailed, complete master itinerary for wedding week around 3-6 months in advance 📅

apparently today is NATIONAL WEDDING PLANNING DAY 🫶🏻🥂

I had no idea + also no plans for this post so I just wanted to pop on here real quick and say THANK YOU.

thank you to all of the incredible couples who have chosen me to work by their side on one of the biggest days of their life. It is truly an honor 😭💕

thank you to the vendors- many of you who have become close friends, and people who make the 18 hour days that much better. I feel so lucky to be collaborating and making wedding day magic for our couples with some seriously cool people behind the scenes.

If you’re just jumping into wedding planning or maybe you’re further down the line and starting to feel the pressure, just remember … this is YOUR day. Even if the whole thing goes up in flames, if it pours rain or snows in June… you get to spend the rest of your life with your person, and that’s worth celebrating. Wedding planning is not a race, a competition or a show. It’s a culmination of the intimate details that make your life together special. 🤍

just your friendly neighborhood wedding planner interrupting our regularly scheduled wedding content for a little appreciation post ❣️

backstory- in 2019, I was fresh out of the military, a new mom and trying to figure out what life was going to look like as my husband was heading out the door on what turned out to be a 9 month deployment. I have always worked with my dad in some capacity- in his bakery when I was 6 years old dipping chocolate strawberries, riding shotgun and inputting supply orders for restaurants around town when I was 12, and in his office as his assistant at New York Life for my teen years. I grew up with New York Life and it seemed like the place I needed to be.

“New York Life will change your life if you let it” - said by the first female Managing Partner Alaska has ever had. Truer words could not be spoken. In January 2020, I embarked on a career in the world of financial services and I loved it. I was good at it. I served so many families and loved helping them with long term planning for financial success. Through a global pandemic and several other hiccups, my business thrived and I won several awards in my first two years 🎉

Then I started this little wedding planning business- what was supposed to be a fun side gig quickly transformed into a full - time thriving business that I could not be more proud of. It fills my cup in every way and is definitely the only thing I can ever imagine doing. My formal resignation from New York Life was effective one day before my 3 year anniversary. 💙

This year, I had the HONOR of planning NYL Alaska’s annual gala and it was the biggest full circle moment for me. 💙 it was one hell of a party 🔥

Just feeling so grateful for all of the support that has gotten me where I am today. It’s true- New York Life has changed my life- from my childhood all the way through to adulthood as I watched my dad grow and thrive, and to work alongside him on my own, to my business being asked hired in this capacity. If you got this far, thanks for reading! This is definitely more of a personal post but part of my story nonetheless. 💕

details matter 🙊 I’ve seen a lot of posts going around about how the “flat lay” trend is getting out of hand etc etc.. but here’s why details matter: these flat lay photos capture, in a single photo, textures, smells, vibe, feeling, date, and more. just like they say that wearing a special scent on your wedding day associates that scent with the emotion, these flat lays take all of those tiny details that came together on your wedding day and help you remember the way you felt 💕 here’s a quick list of what to pack for your photographer: (Planner Tip: have them in a keepsake box or separate box for easy access & so your photographer can easily move it to wherever they want to do the flat lay🔐) -wedding invitation suite -wedding rings, engagement ring + single or double ring boxes -accessories (jewelry, veil, cuff links, watch, tie/bow tie, etc) -perfume and cologne (custom wedding day scents are fun!) -shoes -hairpiece, if you have one -any special items that are unique to you as a couple, or special heirloom family items you want to include Your photographer (or planner!) will likely grab the bridal bouquet/the groom’s boutonnière to include those as well.
