While attending art school in Grand Rapids, MI in 2009, I fell in love with photography. During my time in school, I worked as a barista to support myself and fuel my love for coffee. Then I landed my first job in marketing at a mortgage company filming videos for realtors. I took some classes for graphic and web design and thought it would be fun to take a photography apprenticeship with a local
wedding photographer. That ended up lasting two years. During that time, learned about the wedding industry and my passion for photography exploded. I learned about lighting, composition, posing and most importantly how to work with clients. After school, I moved back home to the greater Detroit area. In 2015, I was hired as a photographer at MyPic photography studio in Lake Orion which operates out of Canturbury Village. While working for MyPic, I had the opportunity to collaborate with other experienced wedding photographers who had been working the wedding circuit for decades. I became better and better with each wedding that I shot. Since then, I have photographed over 200 weddings. In addition to my photography job, I landed a video production position in 2018 as part of the marketing team at a local healthcare company that specializes in Autism therapy. Over the next four years, I would take the training and experience I gained as a photographer and use it to create success story videos about individuals with ASD. It was one of the most gratifying experiences of my life. (Also, it's where I fell in love with my wife, Jenn)
I worked for the healthcare company for four years. Currently, I wish to pursue a career where I can continue to build upon the skills that I gained from creating films and telling stories and combine it with my passion for documenting moments for people on the most important day of their life. Although, I have worked in the wedding industry for a decade, I am fairly new to producing wedding videos. I truly believe my work speaks for itself.
