A little progress update!!! The roof was FINALLY finished last week and we'll be shooting a video update this week, but just couldn't wait to show y'all the 16x16 deck we added to the Glass House porch!!! It's AMAZING!!! It will be great for photos, outdoor workshops and maybe even eventually a stage for music!

We'll be putting some finishing touches on this week, like ELECTRICITY and LIGHTS 😂, as we approach the Nov 26th date for our Christmas on the Farm event and then decorating the Glass House for visiting with SANTA!!

Thank you Friend of the Farm, Mary Donna, for calling us up today to come and take MANY blue asters from your glorious garden!! This is only a small portion of what she donated and it practically filled up the backseat of our van. They will surely be loved and spread all over our farm over the years to come!

The first sunflower of the new rows started blooming yesterday! 🌻 There are a few more buds getting ready to bust open, and in another week and they'll be about picture ready.

Dahlias are still looking gorgeous. Just a little short-stemmed this year. They'll be bigger next year.

🌻Sunflower update!!! 🌻
Two rows about 70 ft long, most are around chest height and just the BEGINNINGS of buds. Maybe another week? These are daylight neutral, so the days getting shorter won't affect them. If we get a frost threat, we've got frost cover waiting.

Still no roof on the Glass House, but we're closer! Electric wiring has been run!

Update on the glass house!

We are also tagging the Shoals Habitat ReStore in Florence, because the majority of our windows, our French door on the back and the chandelier we will be hanging were ALL purchased there! We shop there for most of our renovation items and encourage everyone to go pay them a visit!

The weather FINALLY cleared, the sun came out and it was FINALLY dry enough to climb up there today!!! Rafters have been started!!
We got a new helper last week too. Thank you Tucker Sharp for lending a helping hand!

UPDATE on the window/glass house!
Getting closer to having a roof...... 🤣

The roof band (it holds the 4 corners in place) FINALLY is on and the ceiling joints went up today!!! It's looking more like an actual BUILDING now!!

Question: the arch windows have a black frame. Keep them black for a contrast pop, or paint them white to match?? I kinda like the pop, but would like input.
