Here's our jam, in a nutshell:

Weddings
From concept to completion, planning gorgeous, flawlessly executed weddings is my hallmark. My background in project management means that I create a process that is not only actionable (think timelines, weekly check-ins, and very detailed budgets), but fun (think inspiration boards, champagne, and lots of laughing). Or are you overwhelmed with planning Aun

t Jo’s ninetieth birthday in a few weeks? Whether you’re looking to create a swanky vibe for a restaurant opening or a huge surprise with a sparklers for your newly engaged best friend, I've got the experience and the ideas to bring it to life. Destination Events
As a perpetual traveler, I find destination events among my most favorite to plan. Sourcing unique, local decor items, researching venues that fit your event, and assembling a team of trusted, rockstar vendors. Plus, my unique method of organization is even more critical when planning far away, hard-to-visit locations.

I’ve known from the first time we met for a consultation via face time and they were drinking to-go Negronis from their favorite neighborhood restaurant at 3pm that and were my kind of people, and what a pleasure it’s been to discover just how right I was about that over the past 18 months. Gracious, thoughtful, easygoing, invested only in the things that matter, introspective, trusting, and kind. Truly, truly kind. With a love story for the ages… a once in a lifetime kind of love for a once in a lifetime kind of couple. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Skjei - we could not possibly be happier for you 🤍

A couple who trusted us implicitly from day one. A couple who always kept the marriage - not the wedding, no matter what year it was or wasn’t happening in - as the first priority. A couple who shares my love for dogs, wine, organization, and black as an accent color. A couple who took every single bump on their planning journey - and there were a few, including the finale, tropical storm Elsa arriving just in time for their wedding - in stride. A couple who has felt like family from the jump. Congratulations and so much love to you and , we couldn’t be happier for you. We (finally) did it!

Massive thanks to the dream team who made us look good today while we basically stood by in awe ⬇️

Two plus years, two reschedules, and two times saying I Do.. today we rang this couple in with their friends and family gathered together with them, a day they’ve waited a long time for. A special day for sure. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Coan!

Huge thanks to the incredible folks we worked with who all navigated some tricky waters (thanks covid) with grace and who showed up and put in some amazing work for this couple today:

What. A. Day.

After being forced to cut their guest list from 250 to 50, then 100, then 150, and weeks ago being given the green light by the CDC and the state of MA to celebrate however they chose, celebrate they did.

We began working together in February 2020 and I don’t need to tell you much more about how our planning period went. Throughout the process, Courtney and Chris remained optimistic and hopeful but never wavered from moving forward with their wedding on their original wedding date, no matter what that might look like for them. In my eyes, there is no truer testament of their love for one another, and it was an honor to be able to bring the big, lively celebration that had always envisioned to life with them yesterday.

and , my gratitude for you runs so, so deep. Thank you for being a shining light for me during such a challenging time. I always knew, without a doubt, that I had your wedding to look forward to no matter what.. and that was everything 🤍 go stags!

Thank you times a million to our all star vendor team. Each of you played an important part in this day and we couldn’t have made any of it happen without you:

Huge thanks to my team who managed a demanding day with grace and a smile. Super proud of the work you all did yesterday - including finding my iPad no fewer than 5 times and making approx 29 trips to the couple’s suite - thank you for the steps and the smiles, and !

In October, I soft launched TLT At Home - a new branch of The Little Things dedicated to bringing our signature project management system and natural, intentional, and fresh design style into a new medium - homes. It’s something I’ve thought about doing for some time but couldn’t make space for, but the losses we’ve experienced from COVID forced my hand into making it happen in 2020.

One of the first clients to hire TLT At Home were also the first clients to hire The Little Things to design and plan their wedding in full. It was a really fun little full-circle moment and getting to work together with them again - 6 years later - was such a treat.

Playing a small part in helping them to begin their lives together on their wedding day and then playing a small part in creating a space for them to welcome and nurture their first child was a gift that came during a time I needed it most.

Our goal with this nursery/guest room combo was to brighten up the space overall and make it feel calm and serene while still feeling like a kid’s space. Swipe through for the before photos and let me know what you think!

The last day of 2020. I don’t have anything profound or meaningful to say, finding ways to stay positive and reasons to keep moving forward has taken every last ounce of my energy this year. But I do want to take a moment to thank each person who has shared an encouraging word, checked in, brainstormed, listened, opened yourself up to share your fears with me, helped me when I tore my Achilles, understood delayed responses, enthusiastically supported my alternative business ideas, became The TLT Shop customers and TLT At Home clients, or simply asked, “how are you?”. These small moments of connection have created the thread that has held me together this year, and from a place of deep, deep gratitude, I thank and raise my glass to you. Cheers 🥂

What an incredible treat to see one of our favorite weddings of all time featured in today! We worked with Amanda and Peter on a wedding focused on celebrating their community, and it started with their 6 (!) children. Working with them was a joy from start to finish, and the wedding day felt incredibly intimate and personal. Amanda and Peter wanted the day to be about their guests - their community - knowing how much they loved and appreciated them, and for the blending of their families to be at the forefront of the story of their wedding day. In the end, that’s exactly what happened. Plus, the bride loved Notorious BIG and let me incorporate that into the wedding. I mean.......

This groom wanted (but decided against) Louboutins for his footwear and the bride got her shoes at a consignment shop for $20 the week of the wedding. One of my favorite little tidbits in a celebration absolutely filled with this kind of goodness ✨✨✨

What a night! I’m overflowing with gratitude for , , and each of the wonderful people in this photo. Thank you for moving through your wedding hurdles with such grace. Thank you for keeping what was most important - your love for and commitment to one another - at the forefront in these past few months. Thank you for making each of your vendors feel indispensable, regardless of the change in scope. Each and every moment of today felt incredibly special, and it was a joy to be a part of it.

To the team we worked with to bring things together, thank you for weathering this storm with us in such a beautiful way. It was a true pleasure!

05/20/2020

I took this photo on day 1 of full time self-employment. In 2016, after a few years of working a full time job while beginning TLT, I left the safety and security of corporate America and bet everything on myself.

I remember so distinctly the feeling: excitement and blind optimism at the high points, and terrifying, sometimes crippling what if’s at the low points. What if no one hires me? What if my clients are disappointed? What if I’m not a good boss? What if I I can’t make ends meet?.. the list goes on. To calm myself, I always returned to one thought in my mind: if I do my very best day in and day out, I’ll know I’ve done everything in my power to make TLT a success, and if it doesn’t work out, I’ll be able to walk away with no regrets.

Life as a business owner is filled with high highs and low lows. It’s not just your business, it’s something your life depends on. You have no choice but to pour every ounce of yourself into it if you want it to survive, and that means making difficult sacrifices in every other part of your life at some point or another (or sometimes, all at once). Life as a business owner in the wedding industry is even harder - according to , being a wedding planner is the 4th most stressful job in the world.

COVID-19 has taken the challenges of being a business owner in the wedding industry and magnified them times 1 thousand. Some days it feels insurmountable, others it feels like it could inspire positive change in an industry that needed a little kick in the pants.

Now, for the first time in a while, I’m finding myself back in that place where I’m wondering what if. Amidst the sea of uncertainty, I’ve poured my heart into an online shop. It’s filled with mood boards, color stories, templates, and learning opportunities. Each piece feels like a little snippet of my soul, and more will be added each week. It’s meant for other industry professionals and anyone else who needs a dose of inspiration for a project, an event, or just in daily life. Custom options are available too, and I’d love to create something just for you.

Thanks for being on this ride with me, you guys, and welcome in 🖤 ITSTLT.COM/SHOP

A Monday message some some of my colleagues and I: we know your hearts are breaking... ours are, too. But love is not cancelled (or postponed!). Couples who are having to make difficult decisions with little solid information, our vendor and venue teammates who are working around the clock to try to accommodate changes in plans.. we see you, we know how incredibly difficult this is, and we are right here with you. Love isn’t cancelled, we are in this together. And we can’t wait to celebrate with you in just a little while 🖤

I don’t know what to say that hasn’t already been said eloquently and tastefully by my industry peers, so I’ll just say, I’m thinking of you. If I can be of help to you in any way, please reach out. It’s not in my nature to do sweeping gestures and pave the way over Instagram, but I very much value person to person conversation and connection, and I’d love to connect with you.

I’m focusing on taking care of my couples during this uncertain time and am happy to share anything I can to help you navigate this tricky situation, too. And I’ll probably be sharing some things that make me laugh in my stories, because without humor, how can we get through it? xo

P.S. - please, please, please do what you can to support small business during this troubling time. Even taking a few minutes to leave a Google review goes a long way 🖤
