We never started out to start a "Wedding in the Barn Business". My daughter called us from Washington State where she goes to school and said she was coming home to get married in the barn! After we fainted, we got busy cleaning up and patching up the old barn. There were quite a few critters and their leavings and some old equipment upstairs along with old, leftover hay, bus seats and everything

else we didn't want to touch. On top of that, there were no stairs, holes in the roof, holes in the floor, holes in the wall, no electricity and seemingly little time as well! As it turns out, my husband can work miracles and all things turned out fine. The electricity was turned on 3 days before the wedding, the railing on the stairs was completed the day before, a sink was installed onto the back of the barn, some doors were fixed and all the posts in the downstairs were re-enforced for any dancing and moving that may take place upstairs. What a beautiful wedding we had, even with rain trickling in through the unfixed roof during the ceremony to land mostly on my husband's head (that was back then, the Amish have since come and given us a new roof!). The barn has become a labor of love and others have fallen in love with it as well. We've made a lot of improvements and there are a lot more to make! The barn does not look like much from outside, but the true magic happens when you reach the top step and look down the massive "cathedral"!! You will be amazed, just as we are every time we climb the stairs!

1. What’s your favorite moment of a wedding day to witness?
“The ceremony! It’s such a sacred agreement with God, and getting to host that moment in my own yard is such a privilege. Even if I’m usually running around getting things ready, the anticipation as the bride steps out and the couple finally sees each other gets me every time.”

2. If you could give one piece of advice to engaged couples, what would it be?
“Don’t stress over the little décor details—your guests are there for you, not for the centerpieces they won’t remember. Have fun, enjoy the day, and trust that everything will be beautiful!”

3. What makes this venue special or different from others?
“We offer the whole weekend! Set up on Friday, pick up on Sunday—less stress, more time to enjoy. And with how spacious the barn is, no one ever has to feel cramped!”

4. On weekends without weddings, what do you usually find yourselves doing?
“Honestly… wondering why we took the weekend off! We never know what to do with free time, so we usually end up fixing things around the barn, organizing décor, or planting more flowers.”
