Exciting leadership updates for Watsonville!

City Manager Tamara Vides has appointed Nick Calubaquib as Deputy City Manager! Nick, who has served the City for 13 years, will continue leading our Parks & Community Services Department while taking on new responsibilities like community outreach, strategic planning, and advancing city-wide initiatives. His passion for connecting with residents makes him a key leader in driving positive change.

He joins Deputy City Manager Nathalie Manning, a dedicated team member since 2002. Nathalie focuses on Human Resources and internal operations, ensuring our City departments run efficiently and effectively.

Together, Nick and Nathalie will support our City Manager in delivering exceptional services, fostering innovation, and keeping Watsonville a vibrant, thriving community.

Update from Fine Arts!
If you tried to guess the number of ceramic apples in this amazing work of art... we now have the answer for you... and the winners!
The artist estimates there were 2,738 apples in the crate.
Two people, Zach and Anthony, both guessed 2,736!!
They tie for the win! There prize package includes a t-shirt, purple cooler and more!

Reason #10 I love living in Santa Cruz County? The Santa Cruz County Fair!

It may be my favorite event all year 💫From the fun houses, the rides, the food, the games, exhibitions and animals - it is just FUN.

We stayed for 6 hours and had a B L A S T. The kids were hopped up on cotton candy and adrenaline - and had the best night sleep of their lives 😂

Our daughter also won a fish so we are now the proud owners of possibly the coolest fish tank for a quarter sized 🐠 in town. Can't wait until next year!
