🍽️ Wedding Appetizers: Tips & Tricks to Wow Your Guests! 🍤🧀
Wedding appetizers set the tone for your reception, and they’re a great way to showcase your style and your taste. Here are a few tips to make sure your appetizers leave a lasting impression:
Consider Your Guest List:
Choose a variety of appetizers to accommodate different dietary needs (think gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.). It’s always a good idea to check in with your caterer to make sure all guests feel included!
Mix it Up!
Offer a mix of hot, cold, savory, and sweet bites. Think mini sliders 🍔, skewers 🍡, charcuterie boards 🧀, and bite-sized desserts 🍰—variety keeps things exciting and ensures everyone finds something they love.
Keep It Easy to Eat:
Guests will be mingling, so appetizers should be easy to eat standing up, without too much mess. Small bites like bruschetta or crostini are always a hit!
Serve Seasonal Flavors:
If you’re having a wedding in the fall, go for comforting apps like butternut squash soup shots or spiced nuts 🍂. A spring wedding? Think light and fresh with caprese skewers or shrimp cocktail 🌸.
Station vs. Passed:
Passed appetizers encourage interaction, while stations (like a taco bar or a sushi station) let guests help themselves. If you want a little bit of both, try offering a combo of passed bites and interactive stations!
Don’t Forget the Drinks!
Match your appetizers with signature cocktails 🍸 or mocktails 🍹 for an extra personal touch. Guests will love pairing their bites with drinks that fit your theme!
Time It Right:
Appetizers should be served before dinner so your guests don’t get hangry! But make sure they’re not too filling—leave room for your main course and dessert.

The best item I put on our wedding registry was…
A digital calendar!
This calendar allows Al and I to sync our calendars, seamlessly add new events and check in on what one another have planned in advance and also categorize our events (mine, his and ours)!
It also allows us to create lists! It has been great for grocery shopping because I can access the list through the Skylight App! We have a general todo list on there to remind us of all the things we need to get done (car stuff, thank you notes, gift buying, etc)! It’s been fab!
Lastly, we can track our chores! Al has a bit of ADD and remembering to complete tasks can be a challenge. @skylightcalendar makes it SO easy for Al to track his chores, put them on repeat and check them off daily!

If this doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will 🤷🏼♀️
