Wausau Concert Band

Wausau Concert Band The Wausau Concert Band is supported by grants from the City of Wausau, The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, The B.A.

and Esther Greenheck Foundation, The Judd S. Alexander Foundation, and The Raymond and Marie Goldbach Foundation. The Wausau Concert Band provides weekly Thursday night concerts during the summer. Our normal venue is the band shell in Marathon Park on Wausau's west side, but we can also be found at the 400 Block, Hammond Park and the Rothschild Pavillion. Audiences are treated to a variety of marches, show tunes, and popular music for people of all ages. Watch Facebook for concert details.

This week we return to Marathon Park for our last concert of the season. If there is rain the concert will not be made up. Selections include: All About That Bass, Pretty Woman, Grand Canyon Suite, American Patrol, When Johnny Comes Marching Home and Sousa's Sabre and Spurs March. We want to thank our terrific audience for the continued support we receive throughout the summer and we look forward to playing for you next year. Thursday night will be another concert at the beautiful Rothschild Pavilion. Selections include: Stuck With You, Rhapsody in Blue, Battle Hymn of the Republic, MacArthur Park, New World Symphony, Pennsylvania Polka, Nearer My God to Thee and Sousa's Semper Fidelis. This week we are again at the Rothschild Pavilion for our regular Thursday night concert. The air-conditioning keeps it rather cool in there so bring a light coat or sweater. Selections include: Tavern in the Town, Muppet Show Themes, America the Beautiful, Mister Sandman and Sousa's Thunderer March. Concert starts at 7:00. Join us tomorrow night for our regular Thursday night concert in Marathon Park, 7:00. Selections will include: Tumbling Tumbleweeds, You’re a Grand Old Flag, Fiddler on the Roof, Crackerjack Polka, Sousa's El Capitan March as well as an interesting version of the Star Spangled Banner from 1832.

We hope to dodge the raindrops this week to play our concert. Selections include: Georgia on My Mind, Just a Gi**lo, Highlights from "Chicago", Glenn Campbell Medley, God Bless America, Stars and Stripes Forever. If the rain is periodic and light we will still try to play as we are somewhat protected. You can then enjoy the concert from your car and beep your horn for applause like the did years ago.
