Update: the go fund me page for the 5th family has been added!

Yesterday a fire broke out a few streets behind us. 6 families lost their homes and all of their belongings except what they managed to leave with. All human occupants made it out but several pets are still missing.

The following are known drop-off locations for donations, the go fund me pages for the individual families that I could find, groups offering aid to the families, and screenshots of several posts made hoping to find the lost pets of the affected families. If you know of any that I missed please leave the information in the comments or let me know so they can be added directly to the post. I will continue to update any information I find here to try and keep everything in one place.

Our small town can make a huge difference for these devastated families. Now is the time to rally together to help those affected by this tragic incident.

Hello all, here are a couple of reminders about the holiday activities this weekend in downtown Waynesboro:
For the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday:
1. Main Street is closed from 4:45 to 8 or 8:15 p.m.
2. No parking on Main Street during those hours.
3. The tree lighting ceremony is rain or shine.
4. Parking is available in nearby parking lots and on adjacent side streets.
5. Holiday carriage rides are free, but there will be lines.
6. The tree is lit up right around 7 p.m.
7. Land O' Christmas is open from 4 to 9 p.m. at The Counting House at 10 W. Main St. (formerly Citizens, Susquehanna and BB&T bank). Free admission.
Christmas Parade on Saturday
1. The parade route is different this year. It forms at CV Avenue (near Turkey Hill) and Johnson Controls. It heads east on Main Street, turns right on South Broad and disbands just before Memorial Park. Walking units will disband to the left on Memorial Park Drive near the tennis courts and baseball field, while larger vehicles and their participants will disband on Walnut Street.
2. Main Street and South Broad streets will be closed from 1:30 to 4 p.m., depending on the length of the parade.
3. Memorial Park Drive and Walnut Street between Fourth Street and Fifth Street will be closed to traffic once the parade begins to ensure safety for all.
4. Free parking is available along the route in Rotary and Trinity Church lots and adjacent side streets.
5. Please observe detours, follow the directions of traffic flaggers and DO NOT move barricades.
6. Remember that these events last just a few hours, and are enjoyed by thousands of people. BE PATIENT!

Come join us this Friday for the Turkey Trot scavenger hunt 🦃, registration details are listed below. Hope to see you there!

We are so excited about our First Friday Turkey Trot but don't worry, you don't have to run at ours. It's a scavenger hunt for prizes!

This is happening this Friday. Come to Main Street Park to register around 4:45/5pm this Friday night. We will be hiding turkey feathers at participating downtown businesses. Take a photo with the Feather when you find it. Once you find them all, come back to the park to show us your photos. Every group that completes the challenge is then entered to win some prizes. This is completely free and open to both kids and adults.

At the Park, we will have Lutz performing and FAT Russ' BBQ - Food Truck and Catering Service serving up some of his famous BBQ. There will be some crafts and games for the kids at the Park also.
