We are heartbroken to make a decision we hoped we would not have to make. We were excited to be moving full steam ahead with the on ice event in our traditional location, but we are at a point where we just need to rip off the band aid.

We thank you for your patience these last few weeks! We are blown away that over 2,200 people purchased tickets this year – wow. We love this squad! 🙌

As we stated last week, this unseasonably warm start to winter and lack of ice created a less than ideal condition for the Chilly Open. Most winter events are canceling, and the easier thing to do would be to just throw in the towel.

As of right now, Lake Minnetonka is partially open water. We are aware that temps will be dropping very low this weekend (woohoo!), but safety remains our top priority for our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers. Therefore, we are unable to confidently plan this event on ice and we have received support to explore an on-land experience for Wayzata Chilly Open.

The Chilly Open Committee needs a few more days to see if we can make this happen. There are many factors and logistics to take into consideration. Again, we thank you for your patience and we will be in touch soon!

Hey squad! We are aware that this unusually warm winter and lack of ice is not ideal for a typical Wayzata Chilly Open. Safety is always our #1 priority and we are exhausting all options at this time.

We plan to provide an update by Wednesday, January 10. Refunds will be issued should we have to cancel. Please be patient and thanks for hanging in there with us!
