[2024 WCIPC] Meet the Finalists: Victoria Bi (U.S.A.)
Beginning her journey through music and piano, Victoria Bi started learning piano at 3 and a half years old under the guidance of Yifan Liu at Studio for Piano Arts. With Mr. Liu’s invaluable mentorship, her passion for music continued to grow. In addition, she also had masterclasses with renowned pianists including Dang Thai Son, Michail Markov, Mikhail Voskresensky, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Vanessa Latarche, and Gabriel Kwok.
During her piano studies, Victoria has received numerous distinguished awards including being the National Winner of the 2023 MTNA-Kawai America Junior Piano Competition; the 3rd Place at both 2024 and 2022 Emory University Young Artist Piano Competitions; 3rd Place and the Special Press Award at the 11th International Piano Competition in Netherland in 2022 to name a few.
Victoria made her debut with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in 2022 after winning the Grand Prize in 2022 Young Artist Competition held by the FWSO.

[2024 WCIPC] Meet the Finalists: Haozhou Wang (China)
Haozhou Wang has already established himself as one of the finest pianists of this coming generation. In 2023, He was awarded the first prize of Viseu International Piano Competition in Portugal. In 2021, he won the second prize for Massarosa International Piano Competition in Italy, and became the youngest winner in the competition history. Further accolades include the winner of The Juilliard School Piano Concerto Competition, and made his debut at Alice Tully Hall in New York; first prize for 2018 William Knabe International Piano Competition; first prize of the 2017 Juilliard Schools’ Bachauer and Nordmann Piano Competition; first prize for the 7th YAMAHA USasu International Piano Competition held in Phoenix Arizona; and grand prize at the 5th Cadenza National Chinese Youth Piano Competition in 2013( in Beijing, China), launching himself as a recognized international and global rising star. Haozhou Wang began studying the piano at age of three and half. Wang enjoys playing soccer and working out at the gym when not practicing piano. In his free time, he volunteers as an interpreter at music festivals in the U.S for students from China. Currently, Haozhou studies at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Robert McDonald.

[2024 WCIPC] Meet the Finalists: Marie Wurtz (U.S.A.)
Marie Wurtz is currently pursuing undergraduate piano studies with James Giles at Northwestern University and previously studied with Inesa Sinkevych at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege. She was named a 2022 Finalist by the National YoungArts Foundation. Marie participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival in the studio of Peter Serkin in 2018. She has also attended Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy and the Manhattan in the Mountains festival. In 2022 and 2023, she attended Aspen Music Festival, studying with Arie Vardi and Anton Nel. Marie has performed in Merkin Hall, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the Manhattan School of Music, and many other halls. In 2021, she received 1st prize in the Philadelphia International Piano Competition and 2nd prize in the Spotlight International Piano Competition. Marie has taken part in masterclasses with the Dover Quartet, Gary Graffman, Alexander Korsantia, and Shai Wosner, among others.
