It's go time!
The Hilltop hosted a variety of great programs this summer. Professors Julian and Salmans each facilitated workshops and we were delighted to host our colleagues in Southwestern Oklahoma State University Department of Music for their camps.
We now say "farewell" to our wonderful summer and say "hello" to Fall '24 which begins THIS MONDAY! See you there!
See you Monday!
SWOSU has been shaping future leaders since 1901. More than a century of tradition and innovation, and itβs all thanks to our amazing students, faculty, and staff from yesterday, today, and tomorrow. π π

Happy Birthday, William Shakespeare!
βThere was a star danced, and under that was I born.β
-Much Ado About Nothing: Act 2, Scene 1
Happy Earth Day! The Hilltop Theatre is looking particularly lovely and we want to shout out our FABULOUS SWOSU Groundskeepers for keeping our campus grounds looking great!
Spring is in bloom at the Hilltop as we prepare to open 'Candy and Shelley go to the Desert' on the Steve P. Strickler stage!
YOU LEFT YOUR TYPEWRITER AT MY APARTMENT
(Students in the Costume, Wardrobe, and Makeup Course created unique animal characters by all working from the same base pattern. What a fabulously fun project this was, and of course, we had to get in on the fun of The Tortured Poets Department release! Did you know that Costume & Wardrobe professionals work across all facets of the entertainment industry, including music tours?)
Don't miss out on this HILARIOUS play set in the 1980s!
Heading west in search of romance and adventure, Candy and Shelley find themselves stranded in the vast emptiness of a western desert when their car boils over. Through a series of adventures, our heroes discover that finding yourself sometimes requires getting a little lost...
SWOSU Theatre considers this show to have a PG-13 rating--PERFECT for a date night or hanging out with friends!
Tickets are $10 at the door, first come first served, no reservation requried. As always, the show is FREE for anyone with a SWOSU ID.

Go forth with Caution, dear friends π§‘
ππ Happy World Theatre Day!! ππ
Today, we celebrate our Faculty and Students who create incredible live experiences to share with our community. We also celebrate our audiences, who support and grow alongside us.
"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being."Β -Oscar Wilde
Prof. Salmans Meditz and Prof. Doughty were very excited to attend Film + Music Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol yesterday to share SWOSU's new Film & Live Entertainment Program. While there, the two were able to network with dozens of businesses, partner programs, and schools as well as thank legislators for their continued support of the Arts and of SWOSU.
Thank you especially to Rep. Anthony Moore, Rep. Jared Deck, Rep. Nick, Archer, and Sen. Darcy Jech who all came by and spoke with us about SWOSU.
SWOSU is delighted to be at this great event today to share information about our Film & Live Entertainment Program Launching Fall '24!
One of our favorite events to host each year is the Regional 3A and 4A OSSAA Speech & Debate Tournament. This year was one of the largest tournaments we've hosted in quite some time. We were honored to have over 200 entries from 10 schools on campus with us all day yesterday and today.
Thank you to Marlow, Crescent, Plainview, Rush Springs, Mount St. Mary, Comanche, Marietta, Hollis, Okarche, and Lawton Academy. Your talented students and their *incredible* coaches were formidable competitors. We are awed, inspired, and delighted by each of them and the talent and drive they bring. Congratulations to each and every student who bravely steps into these contests and best of luck/break a leg at State πͺ
SWOSU is proud to continue to support and partner with you! See you next year on the Hilltop!
Enjoy your Break, Bulldogs!
