The Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi is located at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Kappa Kappa Psi is a coeducational Fraternity dedicated to the service, promotion, and advancement of college and university bands. Our approximately 5,000 student members provide leadership, musicianship, and support to over 200 band programs across the United States. As s

uch, Brothers are often referred to as the “backbone” of the band program. The Epsilon Epsilon chapter was founded at Southwestern Oklahoma State University under the leadership of Ray Bell when he and twenty-five other members formed the Southwestern College Band Club and they petitioned for membership. The Alpha Chapter came from Stillwater and made the group a colony, and put them on probation. On May 26, 1967, Kappa Kappa Psi granted membership and the Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi was born. Since then Epsilon Epsilon was awarded as one of the “Top Ten” chapters (1983-1985), and the current members continue to “Strive for the Highest” through service to the band, providing an “Outstanding Soloist” scholarship at the annual Jazz Fest, holding social activities for the bands, and their “Sound Explosion” DJ service. The Southwestern Oklahoma State University Faculty Advisors are Mr. Marc Mueller and Dr. Robert Chambers.

Join Kappa Kappa Psi on Saturday, October 21st at 7pm for a night of dancing in BMH Room 101! Epsilon Epsilon will be hosting a Halloween themed dance to raise funds to help pay their National dues for the Delta Epsilon membership candidate class of Kappa Kappa Psi. We will charge $5 per person at the door and will also be accepting donations for this class for the remainder of the Fall Semester! If you choose to donate, please include the name of the membership candidate in the memo line. (Membership Candidates: Ryan Minden, Kaydee Shrum, Emma Morrison, Gabby Giblet, and Sophie Tyrl)

Join the brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi for a night of Jeopardy! Starting at 7pm in FA 102 (the band room) on Wednesday, September 6th. We will feature several various games of jeopardy including music, movies, and other topics. We will be playing in teams that will be coordinated at the start of the event. Bring your friends, make some new friends, and ask a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi to join your team! We will feature a “Get to know Epsilon Epsilon” round of jeopardy, you’ll want to have some help!

Hey band! Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma are happy to announce that we will be hosting a SWOSU Pre-band Bingo Night for our marching band students.

Join us Wednesday, August 16th at 8pm in FA Rm 102 to play in the following featured rounds of bingo:

-Multiple Rows
-X marks the spot
-Outer edge
-Small Square
-Blackout
-“B” is for Band

Our chapters will be giving away $400 worth of prizes for marching band students! These prizes will include vouchers that can be cashed in with the Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi to pay in full for the specified item. These will include the payment of new marching shoes, the newly required marching band hat, and sonic gift cards. These vouchers can be used for incoming students and returning students alike. We will allow a “2 at a time” card play maximum & students who win a voucher will be unable to win a second voucher.

Musicianship, Leadership, and Service.

Who are we?
Kappa Kappa Psi operates primarily as a student service and leadership recognition society whose chief aim is to assist the Director of Bands in developing the leadership and enthusiasm that is required of their band. Our goals are to provide the band not only with organized and concentrated service activities, but to give our membership valid and wholesome experiences in organization, leadership and social contacts. The honorary nature of membership is based on our premise that “it is an honor to be selected to serve” this band, its department of music, its sponsoring institution, and the cause of band music in the nation’s colleges and universities.

The Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi invites you to join us for our potluck style dinner on January 25 starting at 7:30pm in BMH RM 101. Come have some food, hangout out with our brothers, and get to know what our chapter does for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Music Department. Please join the brothers and sisters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma for a night of spooky music and a costume contest!

The dance will be held in the Skyview Room in the PCEC starting at 7pm. We are asking a $5 fee to enter the dance and a $3 fee to enter the costume contest. All proceeds will be donated to the 53rd Annual SWOSU Jazz Fest. We will have a variety of prepackaged snacks and drinks available at the dance. We hope to see you there!
