It's been a long time since we've posted an update, so here is a BIG one! As most of our wonderful customers know, we're just a couple, running this side business and doing every delivery, set up, and pick up ourselves. There have been many parties that our awesome kids come and lend a hand (and yes, we pay them well!), but most of the time, it's just the two of us. We keep dreaming and talking about a day where we might be successful enough to hire real employees and book even more events. That would be so great, because sometimes it's stressful that we have to honor our bookings even if one of us is sick, exhausted, sore, etc. Well, it happened. At the end of August, Rob injured his back pretty badly. It was horrible to watch such a hardworking man in so much pain. He could barely walk or move or lay comfortably for weeks, let alone lift anything. Luckily, September was our slowest month of the year so far, with not too many parties booked. The few we had pre-booked, we got through with the help of our kids and a couple of friends. We did, however, have to say no to a few last-minute inquiries we wish we could have done so he could heal. But enough about the negative.... here is all the positive to report! It was a very slow process, but Rob is finally feeling better and moving around much better! He's not back to himself 100%, but he's getting closer, and it's so great to see him back on his feet doing stuff he loves! We have a jam-packed October! And finally, last weekend, we set up 2 tents, with 80 chairs and 10 tables in Uxbridge, MA. We just realized that was our 50th party of 2024!!!! We hit 50!!! We are so excited. Our goal when this year started was to do 40! Now we have 3 more this weekend and 2 more next weekend. All good things as we near the end of this season and get ready for a bigger and better 2025!
