Short notice sorry, but there is a Sounds of Chains tournament tomorrow hosted by Kelly Heslin. She has arranged through the rec board to use the facility. Will be all day, shot gun start - 2 rounds, but not all holes full. Please yield to players but should be able to play around holes in front or behind them

Here is listing of disc we have in the lost disc returns. Guy will have at the DGVT tournament this weekend. If you see one of yours, please plan to stop by to retrieve it. Be prepared to provide us the phone number on it to help ensure it gets back to its proper owner😎. We are also looking for help to oversee the lost disc returns, let us know if you want to help

Reminder that Disc Golf Vermont tournament is this coming weekend May 25/26. Course is closed to public until after last competitors play through (5:00pm?). Parking lot will be busy and Chris has a pizza vendor lined up to be onsite. Good luck to all the players. Guy will have all returned disc on hand to retrieve- be prepared to validate its yours, make, color, stamp, name/phone number on it etc.. we have over 100

Guy and volunteers have been busy with spring spruce up and course improvements. White tees on 2,4,18 are in, more to come. Mulched areas, great bench added at 13 vista point and new flags and discraft stickers on all baskets.

Thanks for the Barre Lions for choosing our course to host their disc golf challenge. Always a great event and fun night in the woods. Congrats to all the winners.

The team The Royal Rumblers were the winners of The Barre Lions Club 9th Annual Disc Golf Challenge at the Quarries Disc Golf Course. They beat out 18 other teams and won a cash prize and special discs designed and donated by PJ Surridge of Birdie or Dye. The $3,000 raised will benefit The Maurice Fortier (Moe) Youth Recreation Fund. The Ramblers donated their cash prize back to the club.

Background of the Lion’s event:
Nine years ago Barre Lion, Rick Theken, suggested the Lions Club hold a Disc Golf Challenge at The Quarries Disc Golf Course located alongside the beautiful Millstone Trails within the Town of Barre Forest in Websterville. Lion Stacy Cadorette took over the leadership and an annual event began.
The Challenge has grown each year and has brought local teams and teams from all over the state for a fun night for a great cause, initially benefiting the Lion’s Sight and hearing program. Last year we raised money for Ukranian relief, and this year we raised $3,000 for The Maurice Fortier (Moe) Youth Recreation Fund. This fund, among other uses, helps pay for open gym at the Barre Auditorium. On many late Sunday afternoons 50-70 kids of all ages have fun at the gym.

Reminder that the course will be closed for public play this Saturday and Sunday until evening as Disc Golf Vermont host the Quarries Throw Down tournament. Come out and see a wide range of divisions as they compete in this event as part of their series. Guy will be on hand selling Quarries attire to support our maintenance fund as well. Parking lot and course will be extremely busy, please plan your visit to the forest accordingly.

Guy has been at it again. At this point we have all blue tee pads completed. Still need to put up our sponsor signs that helped us defray most of the cost. Course has a new addition in the off season as we create a better mechanism to return lost disc. Still a work in process but getting closer… we’ll contact name on disc, provide temp lock code for pick up on your next visit.. Guy will be reaching out to reconnect any disc currently in the drop box at the garage.

DGVT Quarries Throw Down tournament is happening this weekend. Course is thus closed to the public Saturday and Sunday until early evening allowing competitors to play. Group has worked through the proper channels with us and the Town of Barre Rec Board to reserve the course and we Welcome their event. Good luck to all competitors in all divisions - have a great tournament!

Can’t thank these two supporting businesses enough. North East Materials has donated ALL our stay matt needs since 2013. Nelson’s has provided pallets of sand for the tee boxes. Thx to Doug Farnham for transport. Tees 15 & 16 going in Wednesday. Anybody wanting to help level out the stay matt tee pads ahead of this wkend tournament-help is welcomed.
