Quick shout out to recent Venmo donations made towards the course maintenance fund. Donations are key to keep us going and able to defray our expenses as we make improvements. In addition to Venmo, we collected over $200 in the donation station. Thanks all. Last night at the Town of Barre Select Board meeting, we were able to renew our Agreement with the Town to maintain and operate The Quarries Disc Golf course within the Town of Barre Forest. Looking forward to overseeing this FREE public course as we head into 2026. Amazing to see where it has come since pitching it in 2013 and making it happen! A lot of volunteer hours! Thx to David, Guy and Al for being signees on the agreement.

Welcome to Autumn in Vermont. Hope you are enjoying the course with the leaf covered ground. I’ve started playing different color disc to help find them, also due to darkness coming earlier. Reminder that we are in the hunting season here and that the Town of Barre Forest is open for hunting. Good rule of thumb is to wear or have blaze orange on your bag shoulder strap. Thanks in advance for being respectful to all the other user groups enjoying the forest.

Heads up about a future event in the Town of Barre Forest. On Thursday October 16th, the MTA trails will be buzzing with activity as the SHS cross country runners host this annual xc event. Welcome to all the high school competitors that will be in town to compete. QDG course will be closed on the 16th from 2:00-6:00pm to allow a safe race course for the runners and their supporters. Good luck to all!

Course Karma paid off as Founders, Designer and Maintainer all medaled at the Vermont Senior Games debut in disc golf at our home course. Great day in the town forest. Congrats Guy,Donna, Al and David.

Good morning all. Just a reminder that the Vermont Senior Games has an event at the course this Saturday Sept 13 as they make their debut with disc golf. In the inaugural year, we have decent number of participants and will be doing a shot gun start at 10:00. We expect play to be a couple hours. Please plan your visit Saturday around this event as they have the course reserved through the recreation board. Thanks to Guy for working with them on logistics, showing the course etc. VSG staff is excited to add this to their program and show this beautiful asset to their competitors.

Hey All - The Vermont Senior Games is coming to out course on September 13th as they host their first disc golf event. If youbare over 50, you are eligible. This will be a for fun best disc type of pairing, so good for any leavel to enjoy a great day on the course. See info below to register

VSGA’s Disc Golf Tournament is coming up on September 13, at the Quarries Disc Golf Course, in Barre. Disc golfer Carolyn Siccama, from Williston, (see her story below), invites new-to-the-sport and seasoned players to join her at the tournament. According to Carolyn, disc golf is like “a walk in the park, plus it is fun!” The online registration deadline is September 9. Good Morning all - just a heads up about construction activity adjacent to the course, hole 18. Millstone Trails Association is getting underway developing a pump track. This project has been in the works for years, planning with the Town and getting funding. Excited to see this additional recreational activity coming to our Town Forest. Congrats and Thx MTA for making this happen

Little shout out of thanks to recent Venmo donations to the course. Many volunteer hours go into making this Free public course so beautiful. Tonight we host the Barre Lions in their 11th annual disc golf tournament. 18 teams of 5 competing in a best disc format to benefit their sight and hearing program. 44 Brook st lot will be full and course closed at 5:00 to accommodate the shot gun start. Good luck to ALL the competitors and thx to the Lions for all their hard work. Maryellen is leading the charge for the Lions and Guy has the course tournament ready as always!
