Hey All - The Vermont Senior Games is coming to out course on September 13th as they host their first disc golf event. If youbare over 50, you are eligible. This will be a for fun best disc type of pairing, so good for any leavel to enjoy a great day on the course. See info below to register

VSGA’s Disc Golf Tournament is coming up on September 13, at the Quarries Disc Golf Course, in Barre. Disc golfer Carolyn Siccama, from Williston, (see her story below), invites new-to-the-sport and seasoned players to join her at the tournament. According to Carolyn, disc golf is like “a walk in the park, plus it is fun!” The online registration deadline is September 9. Good Morning all - just a heads up about construction activity adjacent to the course, hole 18. Millstone Trails Association is getting underway developing a pump track. This project has been in the works for years, planning with the Town and getting funding. Excited to see this additional recreational activity coming to our Town Forest. Congrats and Thx MTA for making this happen

Little shout out of thanks to recent Venmo donations to the course. Many volunteer hours go into making this Free public course so beautiful. Guy and I appreciate all the comments and donations that help offset our expenses. Always looking for folks interested in helping to mow and weedwack. PM me if you’d like to help keep the course up.

Tonight we host the Barre Lions in their 11th annual disc golf tournament. 18 teams of 5 competing in a best disc format to benefit their sight and hearing program. 44 Brook st lot will be full and course closed at 5:00 to accommodate the shot gun start. Good luck to ALL the competitors and thx to the Lions for all their hard work. Maryellen is leading the charge for the Lions and Guy has the course tournament ready as always!

As pavers arrive in the coming week. We are trying to ease the workload taking advantage of snow cover to stage them at the 8 locations. We may have utility snowmobile to use, tandem trailer would be ideal to help lug, OR if you have a tracked ATV and like to help, we’d love to hear from you

Barre Lions Rick Theken, Linda Mercy, Judy Cookson, and Harry Hinrichsen present, David Rouleau, with a check for $600 to sponsor hole #15 white tee pad and maintenance at The Quaries Disc Golf course. David and Guy Norwood are signees on an agreement with the Town of Barre to maintain and operate this Free Public DG course within the Town of Barre Forest. They work directly with the rec board and Trust for Public land whom are partners on the Forest Easement plan.

2025 planning has begun as we plan to finish up the final 8 white tee pads. Timbers for frames are in, Nelson Ace hardware donating 56 bags of sand, pavers coming from Home Depot whom also discounted for us. Thx to Kevin McCurdy, Al Rosa, Gary Vigue, Barre Lions, Jimmy Small and Degenerate DG League for sponsorship of holes. We have 2 left @ $400 fb msg me if you want dibs. Hole 14 and 12 up for grabs

Short notice sorry, but there is a Sounds of Chains tournament tomorrow hosted by Kelly Heslin. She has arranged through the rec board to use the facility. Will be all day, shot gun start - 2 rounds, but not all holes full. Please yield to players but should be able to play around holes in front or behind them

Heads up of course closure for tournaments that have gone through the Rec Board for permission. Tue night June 11, Lions of Barre 5:00pm on (Closed for evening, shot gun start, 20 teams)

Removed the June 15th event as I learned they aren’t holding it here at this time. Thx
