Over 1300 monuments on the Gettysburg Battlefields - I am not really interested in photographing monuments- I like to take in the information and the stories - but they don't really have a visual story for me. Well except this monuments had that visual impact.

A little trip down to Gettysburg this past weekend. There are two things in this photo that the parks department has kept true to the actual battles at Gettysburg, they are the fence lines and the tree lines. This is one of my favorite photos - just posting one for tonight.

My Thursday night light painting a day early. I thought this crab apple tree would hold its color for a couple of days - but it started to turn so quickly. I decided to do this light painting tonight since the rain let up - I would fit it in!! Most of my light paintings have been on our property but going to start going out and about in the following weeks - so if you see me on the side of the road waving a flashlight -its just me. I am thinking the painted abutment heading out of the village of Weedsport might be next!! Also I plan on tackling something on the commercial side. Message me if you have any ideas - dilapidated buildings, old farm equipment - etc. My plans are also to incorporate people into the image - such as wedding couples and senior portraits. This would have been the perfect background for a painted bridal portrait!!

I may need a tow:))) Thursday nights are the official night that I am going to try and do a photographic nighttime light painting. This one didn't happen util tonight. It is really cool because a nighttime painting can work with just an ordinary subject where in the daytime you would have no chance of creating something creative. Always looking for things to photograph so message me if you have something interesting on your property.

Couple of my wife's tulips enjoying the evening light together. Thought these were lost for this year - they didn't take well to the frost the other night, but bounced right back. Hopefully the next couple days I have the opportunity to photograph when they are fully opened show I can showcase their spectacular design.

My light painting for tonight is complete and a Hugh success!!! This was about an hours worth of photography and a quick edit in photoshop - about 20 minutes. twelve separate images are incorporated into this completed photo art painting. I even included the trail of car lights in the distance for a little extra flare.

Tonight I drove the UTV down to our pond. While I was there the goose that has been laying on it's eggs was standing up in the perfect light. So I decided to go up and get my camera - and my wife decided to come along. When we got back down there the goose was laying on its eggs once again and there wasn't a great sight. My wife said there is another goose! So this one was to the left of the original - I would have never noticed this one if my wife didn't tag along:) Took a few photos and left them to have some peace.

I have been wanting to photograph these flowers since we bought our land in 2008. They are ground cover under our hickory trees and only come up in the early springtime. Never had the lens to accomplish a shot like this - next the trout lilies will be blooming in the same spots.

Prior to the eclipse and waiting I used my 200-500 lens to photograph our pets Bella and Max. What an awesome lens for portraits how effortlessly I get a soft background. I don't use this lens much being so heavy - but I plan on doing some human portraits with it soon:)

As far as these three images - I choose three that are backlit. The backlit photo is something that I have been doing for many years - its not a gimmicky trend - but something that lends itself to a very creative capture.

Great news my wife just landed a new account - another nursing program with Keuka College. We'll be photographing the first graduating class this time next year.

As for this photo - we've noticed that many of the students at St Joseph's School of Nursing would be doing cell phone photos out in the hallway. So it is common practice now to photograph a friends portrait. May even incorporate a larger background in the fall to accommodate bigger groups.

My first ever night time light painting - it was freezing out tonight and I was a little impatient, it wasn't totally dark yet - but I am happy there was still a visible sky. Approximately 15 different photos combined combined into one final version.

I often post team photos of our green screen - but as far as the individual photos that is what really has to impress the parents. Full length graphics, very difficult to accomplish. Now I am doing nothing but these full length designs - they have been a tremendous hit.

Ice Hawks 2023 8U White, another full length green screen design - Its not easy to remember how many kids we kneeled vs how many we stood up. Came up with a little trick to keep track of both - plus know who wasn't photographed.
