The Deane Center for the Performing Arts is a vibrant part of the Tioga County community and the surrounding area. We have a state-of-the-art Coolidge Theatre plus other performance venues. There are always concerts happening or scheduled at the Deane Center. Musicians, artists, dancers, actors and everyone interested in the fine and performing arts can

gather to rehearse, perform and enjoy the arts! We sponsor free programs such as Deane Little Beans for children and Golden Afternoons for Senior Citizens. We are the home venue of the EMMF, WCCA, Hamilton-Gibson Productions, Wellsboro Men's and Women's Chorus. We also have beautiful assorted sized rooms available to rent for meetings, classes, special occasions such as Weddings and or receptions, family reunions, baby showers, bridal showers, graduation parties, recitals and other types of gatherings.

We're ready to spill the beans! Our children's program, Deane Little Beans is BACK! Mark your calendars for September 7th, from 9-11AM! This free event is open to kids ages 3-12 and their parents!

Join us for an unforgettable summer of music at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts! Our free Outdoor Summer Concert Series kicks off on Friday, July 12th at 6pm with a lively performance by Boston-area bluegrass and swing band, The Ruta Beggars.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of live music on our side lawn. Our concert series features a mix of up-and-coming regional touring bands and beloved local performers, making it a favorite community event in Tioga County.

New this year: We are excited to offer a commemorative Outdoor Summer Concert Series t-shirt to supporters who donate $30 or more to the Deane Center for the Performing Arts. Your donation helps us continue providing exceptional arts and entertainment programs for the entire community.

Today's mystery... a box was dropped off at the office door yesterday afternoon. In it are four glass vases and in each vase is a small bag with chocolate chip cookies. Does anyone know where this belongs? We have not eaten any of the cookies. Yet.

"Kitty" Grit & Mirrors

Have you had the chance to see the new Gale Largey film? No?? Well luckily, we will have 2 more showings of "Kitty" Grit and Mirrors in the Coolidge Theatre! The first will be on Fri. June 9 at 7:30 PM and the second will be Thurs. June 15 at 8:00 PM. Admission is donations to the Deane Center. Kathryn Crawford was born in Wellsboro and was the daughter of a glassworker. She dealt with many setbacks, but through sheer grit and a belief in the American Dream, she became a Hollywood movie star. During the 20s and 30s, she was in 18 films with many notable film stars like: Marie Dressler, Bing Crosby, Jimmy Durante, The Three Stooges, Robert Young, Hoot Gibson, Buddy Rodgers and many more. After her movie career, she became a nationally recognized interior decorator. Her work was featured three times in Architectural Digest. The homes of President Herbert Hoover, General Douglas MacArthur, Barron Hilton, and Mary Pickford were some of her notable clients.

The Jacob Jolliff Band is the next generation of bluegrass supergroups, led by one of the country's premier contemporary bluegrass mandolinists. Jolliff had the distinctive honor of being named the National Mandolin Championship winner. The band is a rotating quartet of some of the most virtuosic and innovative young acoustic pickers in the country, including Alex Hargreaves, on fiddle.
