We met Courtney at the 19th annual bay city bridal event when she was freshly engaged and ready to plan her dream day. She had seen our “coming soon” poster (we hadn’t even formally announced the barn yet) and was thrilled and excited to talk about the prospect of having her perfect day at a brand new, never before seen venue.

She then toured our barn, in the cold with cows in the basement and hay still stacked high on the main level. She put all her faith into us. As we began construction we kept in mind that Courtney and Paris were trusting us to be ready for their day. Thru the snow, rain, sleet, and blistering heat we knew we had to be wedding ready for not only Courtney and Paris, but their family and guests counting on us. We are so grateful for their optimism, trust, and enthusiasm as we hosted our first ever wedding yesterday.

And what a day it was! It rained, as all of you know, it rained a lot and not only that but there was also a flood warning and the cherry on top of the storming cake was the tornado warning. BUT Courtney and her groom kept the smiles plastered on their faces. We moved tables and chairs when we realized the wedding was not going to be possible by the creek. And turned the dance floor into their ceremony, with the Mickey arch screwed into the wall to hold steady, the chairs made into the aisle, and guests just pouring in to come celebrate the beautiful couple!

And celebrate they did! Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Surgeson, we are so grateful that you trusted us with your big day, and made our first wedding the most memorable day 🫶🏼
