Gordon is a new student and came in struggling with near shanks. We are a little exaggerated in the set up to help introduce and make it easier to swing in to out and hit draws. We closed his shoulders and strengthened his grip. Today was a good step to playing better golf!
Very excited for this kid! His maturity and patience has improved greatly over the last few months. Today, was a great lesson. Our focus was on the takeaway and not letting the club get behind his hands and rightward tilts to finish. Still got work to do but we saw some beautiful shots today. Nice work Tristan!
Jacob is in this morning working on a few things -reducing grip pressure and reducing shoulder turn to start the downswing. Has a tendency to get quick from the top-trying to hit it hard. Finding that he doesn’t need to swing harder to hit the ball further. Slow is fast, fast is slow!
Focused on a few things to help Carl become a better chipper- weight forward, hands forward, soft hands, bigger/longer backswing and getting the butt end away from the body!
Carl tops most of his chips. So much that he will usually just putt from the rough-no more! This is his first chip shot-not good. Follow Carl’s journey to better golf!
Walsh University’s Achim Yu putting in some work today while in town on break. If you want to be better, you have to practice!
