‼️ LONG POST ALERT ‼️ So, last evening I got presented with this award from our International Virtual Community (Virtual Club Night/VCN). This community got started during the 2020 global pandemic when the world was shut down and we all had to rely on each other (virtually) and the devices around us to get through the times. The good brother and great visionary from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 started this amazing community because there were no clubs or events to play outside the house. Folks could not go to parties and we (DJs) had no parties to play so he and his team put together a virtual community where every weekend, DJs (mainly Ugandan) from all over the globe would play music, musicians would get booked to perform on the platform, families would log on with their loved ones and discuss different topics and it quickly became a family. As the world begun to open up, the virtual meetings became physical meet ups, friendships were solidified, actual physical parties have been organized and it’s amazing to see that the community is still thriving, long after the pandemic ended. I have made friends all over the globe through this platform, met with many of them locally, nationally and even internationally. Some have become very close personal friends and I’ve even worked with others professionally on different projects. I say all of this to say, I appreciate the award but most importantly, I appreciate the family that is VCN. There are so many names to name so I will spare that for another day. We can now close the year, Merry Christmas and a Joyful, prosperous New Year.
