Hello All!
It's been a few years since i posted here.
I'm back this year to share some info, updates and pictures from my garden.
First update is about my online dahlia store, which will open one the first day of spring, this coming Tuesday, March 19th at 8pm cst.

I hope that some of you will see this post and maybe would like to buy some dahlias for your garden, and try to grow them this year:).

3 years ago when I started planting dahlias, orange was my favorite color. For last two years I was in love with every peach flower. And at the end of this summer I started to be attracted to light pink. It’s so interesting to see how our color preferences change.

Today, I’m sharing some of my peach dahlias, that I will offer for sale. I may have two more varieties but I didn’t check on them yet, so if there is enough tubers I will put them in the online store for sure!

1) & 2) ROSE TOSCANO - ball
Plant height- 3.5ft
Bloom size - 3in
I love this dahlia, but Im sure I will say that about every peach dahlia😊

3) Crichton Honey- ball
Plant height- 3.5
Bloom size - 4in
My favorite!!

4) LINDA’S BABY - ball
Plant height- 3.5-4ft
Bloom size - 3.5in
Perfect peach dahlia! One of the first to bloom.

5) LABYRINTH - dinnerplate
Plant height- 5ft
Bloom size - 8+in
Spectacular flower in peach/coral and raspberry shades.

6) Touché - semi cactus
Plant height- 3.5ft
Bloom size - up to 4in
Very lovely and unique salmon/peach flowers. My plants are on a shorter side but Touché give some many blooms.

Day Dreamer😍...I divided many tubers of this beautiful dahlia today and I didn’t know what category to put her in (it’s an only yellow/soft apricot dahlia I have for sale), so she will have a separate post:).
It’s a waterlily type.

I can’t wait to grow and see these pastel blooms again.

That’s how these beautiful dahlias look like right now! I finally started dividing all these tubers! Let’s see how long it’s going to take me to divide all of them (over hundred creates).

I always loved peach, orange, coral dahlias the most and I only have a couple of varieties of pink dahlias. That’s unfortunate because at the end of this summer I started to like pink color a lot. That means I need to add a few pink varieties to my small collection😄. Do you have any favorite pink dahlia you can recommend?
Here are my light pink, raspberry pink and candy pink dahlias:

#1) WIZARD OF OZ - ball
Plant height- 3.5
Bloom size -
Small and sweet, light pink blooms with white center.

#2) GERRIE HOEK - waterlily.
Plant height- 4ft
Bloom side - up to 5in
Very pretty soft pink flowers.

#3) Jowey Winnie - ball.
Plant height- 4ft
Bloom size- 4in
mauve/dusty pink with soft peach undertone. Sometimes a hint of purple on the tips of the petals. Beauty!

#4) MYSTIQUE - decorative.
Plant height- 4ft
Bloom size - 3in
Beautiful, dusty rose flowers.

#5) KENORA LISA - decorative
Plant height- 3ft
Bloom size - 5-6in
Very pretty mix of salmon and coral hues.

#6) STELLA J - waterlily (picture from SummerDreamsFarm)
Plant height- 4ft
Bloom size - 3in
Very pink flowers. Ideal for those who love bright colors.

I grew this dahlia for the first time this year and I loved it! Warm, golden yellow with ruffled petals! Beauty!
Blooms are very big - 8in
Height- 4-5 ft

GINGER SNAP - waterlily. Picture #3
Height - 3-4 ft
Bloom size - up to 4 in
Ginger Snap was one of the first few dahlias I grew, while I was learning how to growing veggies 4 years ago.
I didn’t appreciate it that first year as much as I do now. I thought it was not very interesting yellow flower but this last summer I looked at her differently. I noticed that some of the petal are yellow, some gold and some in beautiful shades of bronze. I don’t know how I didn’t notice that before. It’s a beautiful flower!

Heights- 4ft, very bushy plants.

Cheerful and small, yellow flower. I alway grow many plants of this dahlia.

It’s not true yellow flower, there is some yellow petals but also many soft orange petals. For some reason I always think it’s yellow and I plant among my yellow dahlias. Maybe my blooms have more heal lo petals?

Great tubers, plants grow very well for me. Each plant gives me many blooms each year. Sometimes the blooms show the yellow center (which I love), sometimes the center is a little blush.

Bloom size - up to 3in
A little bit of green hue in the center.

Hello All! I know some of you are waiting for an info regarding my tubers, so I’m finally back with some update. All of tubers are dug up and crammed in my new cooler. Unfortunately the cooler is too small for all of them (there is no space at all for the air to circulate and we have a problem with cooling system), so I’m looking for a new home for some of the tubers. Cross your fingers I find one soon!
I will start diving them soon but I won’t be able to tell how many of each kind I have for sale until I check on all of them and Im pretty sure it’s going to take me a couple of weeks.
The online store won’t be open until Late January.
I will be posting the pictures of the dahlias I have in abundance and I’m planning on selling in the next few days. Stay tuned for some beauty😄.
Today one of my very favorites: Crichton Honey. The plant is on a shorter side but the blooms are amazing! They remind of a honeycomb. Warm peach shades with some golden yellow! If I only could grow one dahlia (I hope it will never happen) I would grow this beauty.

Exciting news! My dahlia tubers have their new home!! Last winter my husband bought this used cooler and yesterday we finally put it up and we moved many creates with the tubers from our garage to their new home. I still have to dig up a few hundreds of tubers but I should be done with this task at the end of this week! Next week I will start dividing the tubers, and I will have a better idea how many I can offer for sale.
I will post the varieties for sale soon!!

Another rainy day today (and for the next 2 days)... I like warm, rainy days and the calmness and melancholy they bring, but we had a lot of rain recently and the garden is already soaked to the brim. Some plants , like Japanese anemone are rotting:(. But others, like sweet pea seems to be happy. This spring is challenging. I lost many plants. I keep postponing planting from one week to another due to the weather but I’m still learning to trust and accept what is and keep going. As in the garden, so in life, so often we need to overcome challenges, persevere and make the best out of it. #goldfernfarm #flowerfarmer #seasonalflowers
