HARTFORD CT- #1 Hottest Market in the USA
How did this happen? What does this mean?
I’m thinking about starting a CT specific business/ real estate market podcast, just to cover what we’re seeing, how it’s impacting agents and consumers specifically here in CT. I’d like to have some local market economists, policy makers, and guests not just from the real estate space, but small business owners, and people influenced by this tidal shift in our economy.
For over a decade, from about 2008 until just pre-pandemic, our little secondary market felt overlooked, undervalued, and kind of just forgotten… and well… it stung a little. What’s wrong with us!?
Great schools, awesome people, amazing things to do, access to major metropolitan areas, awesome professional sports, in both Boston & NY, under 2 hours to epic outdoor adventures in Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire… amazing coastline and Beaches not just here but in Rhode Island, Cape Cod, NY! For over a decade, we saw single digit market appreciation in housing, while neighboring markets just over an hour north, and an hour south were booming.
For a decade, we had practically unlimited housing inventory to sell, lots of opportunity for first time buyers, and a fantastic lifestyle for anyone willing to come and see what Central CT had to offer. We had a very balanced market- but, also almost no market value appreciation. Very little.
Well, I guess the secrets out now, AND that comes with a whole host of NEW issues, questions, and things to consider when jumping into buying or selling. Prices are still going up, almost no houses to buy, not a lot of solutions on the table, and a continuing bottleneck for people that want to get in….
What’s happening here? How are we going to solve it? Have you had an experience in the market? Either buying or selling? Good or bad? What questions do you have about how this is all going to impact our economy, our market, our little slice of America here in central CT? What are you seeing? Would you be willing to be a guest or add some content?
Would love to hear what you think…
The Hartford, CT metro area ranked as June’s hottest housing market. Though prices dipped nationwide in June, the month’s hottest markets represent relatively affordable areas that continue to see quick price growth.
