Are you bringing in new plants to your home? Remember some key things to make the process a little smoother:

→ Avoid moving plant too much in the first week, let it stabilize in its ideal light environment
→ Make sure your plants are wrapped before you bring them home from the garden shoppe! (we'll do this for you 😁), so they aren't exposed to cold temps.
→ Keep plants away from drafty windows, and avoid placing them too close to radiators, fireplaces, or heating vents (drastic temp changes aren't good)
→ Water when the soil feels dry, overwatering is commonly an issue during winter months for new plant parents (water when the soil feels dry)

Proper Christmas Tree Care: At Moscarillo's we always recommend:

→ a fresh cut before bringing the tree into your home - After time (generally 3-6 hours), the cut stump gets air in the plant tissue, which lessens a tree's water absorption capacity - the fresh cut reopens the pores to take up water again.
→ Place the tree away from any heat sources (about 3ft away), and
→water immediately when bringing home.
→ Check the water level daily, and keep it watered! If the tree dries out, dried sap can again form over the base, causing the water retention to suffer, and the tree will need a new fresh cut.

And with that, enjoy your beautiful tree!

are you a fan of poinsettias? → Many people confuse the bracts (leaves) of a poinsettia plant with the flowers. The flowers are actually the small yellow cluster in the center of the bracts.
