This is so on point. Yes, it is so important that vendors are fed. We are working tirelessly all day. Also make sure that the bride and groom eat as well. I have heard to many stories where the couple doesn't get to eat because they are being interrupted or to busy mingling with guests. Favors are not that important. Trust me! I have thrown away so many discarded favors from events I have lost count. Small Intimate weddings are better than large ones. You get to actually spend time with your guests. Then with a large wedding.
