Parade is still on for tonight and Santa is coming to town. Parade begins at 5:30. We had to cancel the entertainment tonight as the tent we had, made it through the night but not the wind gust we had this morning.
There will not be any parking beside the park on the Ox Roast grounds due to how wet the ground is.
We will do the best we can tonight and are thinking of all the people in Kentucky and other areas devastated by the weather last night.

Christmas in the Park update for Saturday:
A couple of things I have learned over a number of years…..

We can’t change the weather

The weather predictors are many times wrong

We shouldn’t worry about the weather

Given this, we are still full speed ahead with plans for Saturday evening.
Parade begins at 5:30.
Park lights will be on.
Carriage rides this year will be loading begins the Santa house due to the playground construction.
Santa will be seeing children and this year bring your phone or camera. We will not have a photographer this year. Crafts will be available for the children.
Limited food items - hot chocolate, coffee, hot dogs, pop corn, chips and cookies- all for a donation.
Entertainment by WJHS jazz band.

Please wear old shoes or boots as the grounds will be muddy.

We hope to see you Saturday night.

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas in the Park update
Garrette Park is a construction zone this year with new playground equipment being installed. Trenches for water, sewer and electric have been dug and some of the grounds are a mess. We are moving ahead with a little different Christmas display this year. We have been putting lights in as many trees as possible and will try to add more soon but the lights will go on Friday November 26 and will be on nightly. If you walk in the park please be careful and expect muddy shoes. December 11 we will hold a one day event with food and drink stations, music, parade, carriage rides and visits with Santa. Please bear with us this year as we are doing the best we can to provide another Christmas in the Park for you. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Memories of 2015

It takes about 3 weeks to put up all the lights in the trees. Opening night has always included the American Legion Post 201 and their color guard. They are always willing to serve and we thank them for their continued service. We get the royal treatment to help Santa turn on the lights for the first night. Also more pictures of Santa, games, entertainment, carriage rides and crafts.
