I'm a a day late sharing this!

Yesterday the West Sac Roots played against The Real Sacramento Futbol Club. The Roots won by score of 9-0.

This transition to Competitive Soccer has been very exciting for my granddaughter but she has also been hard on herself for not scoring.

This is only her second year in soccer, she played Rec soccer last year where that team was dominating their opponents in winter and spring season and she was scoring at will, so this is new. We told her don't be too hard on yourself, you are contributing more ways than scoring, be patient and it will come. She got her first score two weeks ago and yesterday she scored and had an assist.

She has skills and speed, and will continue to develop. We told her, we are proud of her and to keep giving it your best.

We are proud of all the girls and we look forward to seeing them all continue to develop and grow 😍⚽️

It's game day!!
Last weekend The played in tournament in South Lake Tahoe. The girls may not have come home as champions in the tournament but they are still winners in my book and we had fun!

Today they will play SSA Thunder; which is a league game and both teams are undefeated.

Sunday they face the same team but it is a State Cup Game.

Another moment of having my sports photography come full circle! 😊

14 years ago,as the then volunteer photographer for RCHS sports, I took pictures of Jonathan Dunn during his senior year in high school. It is a time I will always cherish, creating memories for the kids in my community. The game on 11-12-10 was a game that all of us who were there will remember, it was a night we beat Rocklin in the playoffs and Jonathan scored 2 touchdowns in that game. It was an intense game and this same picture I had published in the News Ledger.

Here we are 14 years later and I had the opportunity to capture Jonathan's daughter playing soccer on Saturday. She plays with a couple of my granddaughter's old teammates who I happened to be out taking pictures of. It's 🏈⚽️

Are you ready for some soccer!!! 😊

My granddaughter was kicking the ball around in the backyard before practice on Wednesday and I snapped a few shots of her. Of course my creative brain went into overdrive! Swipe to see after! 📷

As I did last year, I would share a picture of her in action before the team played and this year she is on a new team and has a match tonight at 6:15pm vs Vacaville.

I purchased quite a few soccer backdrop templates last year when she started playing soccer and am having a ton of fun playing with these. 📷😊

Fancy feet on the field!! ⚽️

On August 24th the West Sac Roots fall season officially began. Their first match was at home and they won, 3-0, on Sunday August 25th we traveled to Chico to face Butte and they won that match too. Final 6-1

Both of the matches were very exciting. The girls had a weekend off and will play again this Friday.

My granddaughter is loving her team and she even looks forward to practice

A year ago yesterday 8-17-23, our granddaughter Kallista attended her first practice for recreational soccer and a year later to the day, she played in her first tournament with her new team The West Sac Roots. As most know she tried out in May for the competitive team and made the team. We are so proud of her! ⚽️❤️⚽️

We are excited about the upcoming season. She has some awesome coaches and she really enjoys playing with her new team. ❤️

Our Story

My name is De'Onna Jack and I have been a photographer in the Sacramento area for over 10 years, I am passionate about capturing and preserving memories for generations and actually started out making slideshows for birthday’s, retirements, memorial services, etc. In 2007 I was approached by the President of a local youth football league and he asked me if I would be interested in coming out to the games and take pictures, and that is when I purchased and began using my first DSLR. I had no experience, just a passion for preserving memories. I loved football and wanted to give back to the community, so it was easy. That led to youth baseball, softball and eventually a few years taking photos for all of the River City High Schools sports games, along with the help of my husband. I fell in love with landscapes when I started walking for exercise back in 2012, seeing the sunrise in the morning was a gift from God so I took to capturing sunrises on my early morning walks using my cell phone, and that led to me wanting to capture the beauty of the sunsets and here we are. I truly have found my passion in photography; which is Landscape and although I am passionate about landscape, I feel that the different genre’s of photography I have worked in over the years all have a place as well as still making slideshows; which will always be what my business and my name was built on. .
