Happy New Year!! A trio of shots for the new year. I also didn't have my tripod but made it work. Love my Nikon Z6ii.

My new year tradition for a number of years has been chasing the sunrise in Old Sacramento/River Walk and going back for Sunset.

Sadly, last year was an exception because I developed RSV, shortly before Thanksgiving in 2023 and I battled that, along with Asthma, Bronchitis and was temporarily on Oxygen. I didn't fully recover until May of 2024.

Praise God I don't look like what I've been through. 🙌🏽🙌🏽

I pray everyone has a wonderful, blessed prosperous, safe and very Healthy Year. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Merry Christmas! It's a CHRIST blessed morning sunrise! These first two were taken seconds apart, facing different areas and with my cellphone as is. No edit, as we used to say years ago

It's been quite awhile since I've been out to chase the sunrise and I'm Thankful and Grateful to wake up to see this beauty this morning!

I checked the forecast it said fog and cloudy but I also saw a sunrise time. I looked out my bedroom window around 6:30ish, saw the colors and I dashed out like Dancer and Prancer 🤣🤣

It has been awhile since I shared some pictures of my granddaughter, Kallista. The Fall season has officially come to an end today and what a season!! So proud of Kallista and her teammates. This was her first season playing competitive after playing Rec for a season. Although the girls lost, they played outstanding, holding the opponent to 1 goal.

Few pictures from the last 3 games and some composites I made. I have to shout and give Sean Flansbaum credit, he took the girls team and Individual pictures, I just made the composites. He is appreciated. We are blessed to have few parents who are photographers on the team📷⚽️

The girls have amazing coaches, wonderful parents. We are proud to be part of the Roots Family.

Her first game as a Root and end of fall season wearing 99 because she misplaced her jersey after last game and it said, look for me🤦🏽‍♀️ 🤣

I'm a a day late sharing this!

Yesterday the West Sac Roots played against The Real Sacramento Futbol Club. The Roots won by score of 9-0.

This transition to Competitive Soccer has been very exciting for my granddaughter but she has also been hard on herself for not scoring.

This is only her second year in soccer, she played Rec soccer last year where that team was dominating their opponents in winter and spring season and she was scoring at will, so this is new. We told her don't be too hard on yourself, you are contributing more ways than scoring, be patient and it will come. She got her first score two weeks ago and yesterday she scored and had an assist.

She has skills and speed, and will continue to develop. We told her, we are proud of her and to keep giving it your best.

We are proud of all the girls and we look forward to seeing them all continue to develop and grow 😍⚽️

It's game day!!
Last weekend The played in tournament in South Lake Tahoe. The girls may not have come home as champions in the tournament but they are still winners in my book and we had fun!

Today they will play SSA Thunder; which is a league game and both teams are undefeated.

Sunday they face the same team but it is a State Cup Game.

Let's go Roots! ⚽️

Our Story

My name is De'Onna Jack and I have been a photographer in the Sacramento area for over 10 years, I am passionate about capturing and preserving memories for generations and actually started out making slideshows for birthday’s, retirements, memorial services, etc. In 2007 I was approached by the President of a local youth football league and he asked me if I would be interested in coming out to the games and take pictures, and that is when I purchased and began using my first DSLR. I had no experience, just a passion for preserving memories. I loved football and wanted to give back to the community, so it was easy. That led to youth baseball, softball and eventually a few years taking photos for all of the River City High Schools sports games, along with the help of my husband. I fell in love with landscapes when I started walking for exercise back in 2012, seeing the sunrise in the morning was a gift from God so I took to capturing sunrises on my early morning walks using my cell phone, and that led to me wanting to capture the beauty of the sunsets and here we are. I truly have found my passion in photography; which is Landscape and although I am passionate about landscape, I feel that the different genre’s of photography I have worked in over the years all have a place as well as still making slideshows; which will always be what my business and my name was built on. .
