Not-for-profit ballroom and Latin formation team in West Sacramento! Both amateur and professional dancers comprise our company.

Established in 2001, the Spirit in Motion Dance Company is a not-for-profit formation dance team. Spirit in Motion has competed and performed successfully at numerous venues throughout Northern California under the tutelage of director Gwen Burton. Over the years, Spirit in Motion has performed a variety of routines, each full of dazzling lifts, tricks, and amazing energy. Our repertoire spans mos

t of the social dances, with Latin, Ballroom, and Swing well-represented. Our dance company deeply believes in the beauty and joy that can be expressed through dance and music. It appears that many of our make-up audition participants are unable to attend auditions tonight because of sickness. We have decided out of an abundance of caution to CANCEL make-up auditions tonight.

We're performing today at Picnic Day at UC Davis! Come watch us perform at 1:10pm at the World Stage at Wellman Hall!!!

The “Picnic Palooza” is ready to kick off at the 110th Picnic Day this Saturday (April 20), and there are plenty of ways to celebrate.

The annual campus open house is expected to draw tens of thousands of people to UC Davis for activities, performances, animal events, research exhibitions, giveaways, food and more. It is believed to be the largest student-run event in the nation.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the huge amount of support for our Dance Marathon Fundraiser! We cannot express our thanks enough to everyone who helped us exceed our goal! We are so grateful for our dance community and for everyone who made a donation, danced with us at the Dance Marathon, or shared our fundraiser to spread the word.

With the funds we've raised, we're able to purchase new and additional costumes to outfit our 40-member team. In the past, team members would have to share costumes, making partnerships, performance assignments, and sizing a difficult puzzle to solve. We are excited to be able to afford everyone their own costume for our upcoming performances at the San Francisco Open Competition on March 29th and the Spotlight Showcase on April 27th and 28th.
