Sometimes lauded, sometimes scorned, today I have decided to feature the humble Carnation.

Coming in almost every color of the rainbow, Carnations are a workhorse in the floral industry. They work well alone and pair with nearly everything. They can be used tall or cut short, broken into pieces to accent corsage work, clustered to look like hydrangea, and mimic other flowers when tailored by a florist's hands.

Like them or dislike them, Carnations are here to stay and the lovely colors this week are worth a 💜

While the holiday started in Ohio, Sweetest Day is now celebrated in an amount of other states here in the USA, especially the Great Lakes region.

In case you haven't heard of it, Sweetest Day is more about saying thanks and acts of charity, which sets it apart from Valentine's Day.
