Hard to believe, but 10 years ago we announced that we were the first unsigned band on the cover of Rolling Stone. This opportunity launched our career and allowed a little known rock band from Saskatoon to be on the national and international stage. It was a life and career changing event that has shaped who we are today.
A lot has happened in the last decade and a lot has changed. While we continue to move forward, it’s also important to recognize where you got your start, and where you came from.
It’s with this in mind that we’re using this anniversary to start a new initiative for where we came from, our hometown of Saskatoon.
Over the next 10 years we are committing to donate a portion of album, merchandise and ticket sales to help support and highlight various Saskatoon-based charities, and more specifically organizations that support and benefit indigenous people in our community.
We are committing to a minimum of $15K / year or $150K over 10 years to go back into our community. We want to share a piece of our success and reinvest back into the community that gave us our start and supported us.
In addition to supporting local charities, some of the donation money will be used on a micro level to help specific individuals who may not have the financial means to gain access to education and music lessons with a focus on supporting Saskatoon’s BIPOC community.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way of this journey and helped us to continue to be able to do what we love. Making rock and roll music.
